Operating system for the specified computer is Windows 7 Home premium 64-bits.
Here is what exactly happens...
1. open the client, (or switch to it, if it's already open)
2. Read all NEW unread emails
3. Click Send/Receive, or wait until WLM does this automatically
Quite often, email messages that have been read will suddenly be marked as unread, and I will have to view them again in windows live mail, and send/receive again to get it to keep them that way. This only seems to happen with gmail, and I'm not sure why. I also often get an error popup that says the server terminated the connection.
I also don't understand why Windows Live Mail forces the use of IMAP for Gmail. I'd prefer to use POP access for my gmail account, as I've found it to be far more stable.
Two problems, maybe related:
1. My storage folders have disappeared. The general heading is there, but with no content.
2. Now I only have "Quick View". I can't get back to regular view.

Changed account from pop to imap following instructions with my provider - when try to open account to see messages get message that Windows live mail needs to download folders - 1st question - which folders is it trying to download, I assume those set up by provider on server?
When click download get above message. can anyone suggest what I can do
Also told by Windows European service that this address would connect me to a live chat - I couldn't find this on website - any suggestions?

I am troubleshooting the server settings on my parents' Windows Live Mail account.
They are unable to send email.

I do not have a printer right now and want to print things at the library. I have put what I need in an email to myself in Windows Live Mail but when I got to the library, could not find any way to access my account. Every entry I find about the subject takes me to Microsoft. I can't get into Microsoft from the library because every single time I try to log into Microsoft, I have to change my password and they won't let me do that without a phone. It is so frustrating. If anyone knows how to do this (access your WLM email account from another computer), I would really appreciate someone filling me in. Thank you.

I have gone to gmail and verified that I have IMAP enabled POP will send messages after a certain time (long past)
I have waited hours between sessions.
I have run Windows Essentials corrections.
I can go to gmail, enter my password and email address and access this account. I would like to have this account on my WMLive.

I am having a similar problem. I have 400+ contacts, most of these are in "Categories". One category is a Club of which I am the treasurer. I have approx. 130 members listed, another is a contact category is a group of friends - about 50 there.
I used to be able to send emails to either or group as a BCC to the email which I sent to a dump address I use. For the past few months however this is not working. The various contact groups are showing in my contacts but unfortunately whilst I am showing
the various numbers in each category the categories are blank. When I BCC a category nothing appears in the BCC.
Is there a solution to this.
