Windows Live Mail: Publishing Photo Album Publishing 1of 1 Status Executing but it is not going anywhere and it pops up every time I open. I tried to send attachments and they did not go.
Now I cannot get any new messages in Windows Live Hotmail.

Now I cannot get any new messages in Windows Live Hotmail.
My windows live mail has hung up trying to send a photo by email. Error message tells me that it is trying to publish photo album, publishing photo 1 0f 1. Am using Windows 7 and Cox Web Mail. While hung up can not receive new mail. Has been going on for over 24 hours. Have tried ending process using task manager and removing, re adding Windows Live Mail, but problem persists. Any ideas how to fix would be appreciated. Thanks.

Windows Live Mail does a "recover lost space" function, or something like that, at intervals when I close out of email. I don't remember the exact name for it. The dialog box that says what it's doing flashes on and off very quickly.
When it is finished, I will find that it has created a new Recovery sub-category, with the day's date, under the main Storage Folders category, and it will begin filing new folders under that heading. Which puts them 'way down the list in the left-hand column of my email page. And sometimes it will change the names of old folders, and move them, as well.
This is obviously a major malfunction, since it's not recovering any lost emails. Does anyone know why this is happening, and how it can be fixed?
And while we're on this, why doesn't Windows Live Mail have its own category? Why do I have to use Outlook? I haven't had Outlook since I got Windows 8.

This is recent and I have been through the 'default programs settings' etc. and the Windows Essentials thing.
When I click a link the email shudders and blushes a bit but doesn't do it!
Other answers seem to be well out of date or about other nuances which is why I am asking again here.
My default browser is Firefox.
Any ideas anyone? I would be very grateful as it is amazingly annoying. THANKS. Julia
