Hi, I'm running Windows Live Mail on Windows 8.1. I have three accounts downloaded to Windows Live Mail via a POP server. I've only just noticed that mail I send via Live mail is disappearing and only the last month or so of messages are available in the Sent Items folders (that's the same situation for all of the accounts). I've searched for answers about this here and made sure all the relevant boxes are correctly ticked in the options and accounts files but it would seem that these sent items are nowhere to be found. Any assistance appreciated. Matt

Greetings,

I'm receiving a lot of spam from *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I've added @email.bench.ca to the Blocked Senders list. There isn't a similar entry in the Safe Sender list. My protection is set to High.

It looks like its only a problem for this one spammer. How can I figure out why it always comes through?

Thanks,

Shane.

Windows Live Mail 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)

I just got a new computer running Win7 pro.  Dl'ed a new version of Live Mail (2012) and am having problems with the size of the windows.  My old computer was running Win7 Home and I had to always downsize the program window - it would *always* start up maximized - but the individual emails would be "medium" sized when opened.  Now, on new computer in new version of WLM, both windows (program and email msg) open Maximized - all the time.  Is there anywhere to set the window size so that it's not maximized?

Thanks!

My Lenovo ultrabook almost run out of storage and starting giving me disc full messages. When I restarted the system - Windows 8, and Windows Live mail, the folders, sub-folders and mails were gone. Just had the my various e-mail accounts with Inbox, Draft, Outbox and Deleted box as folders for each account.

And then had in "recovered folders" various sub folders etc. etc.

I panicked. I transferred heavy data on the computer to an external hard disk to free some storage space at HDD. I exported all the windows live mail to external hard disc. Formatted the system. reloaded Windows (8.1) and Windows Live Mail 2012.

Imported the e-mails..It just imported my various accounts with Inbox, Draft, Sent Items, Junk Folder, Deleted Items and Outbox.. and did not put back my original folders, sub folders and e-mails.. In the recovered items I have various folders, sub folders, e-mail headings.. When I click on e-mail I want to move to a newly created folder, the message comes

Windows Live Mail

Please help.. I have very important e-mail which I did not backed up..

I have already done "Repair All Windows Programs". No success.

Thanks & Regards

This just started today:   When I try to create a new e-mail message, the program freezes;  I can't even close it.   Only way to get into the program is to sign out of my computer user account and sign back in.  Then, when I open Windows Live Mail again, it downloads multiple copies of messages from the e-mail server, including messages I had previously deleted.

I tried repairing Windows Essentials in Control Panel, without success.  Then I did an uninstall and re-install of Windows Essentials.  The problem persists.

Can someone help me?   My operating system is Windows 8.1, 64-bit.  Windows Live Mail had been working perfectly since I first got this computer in December.

What was the answer to this question as I have the same problem. Even after reinstalling program.

I am currently using Windows Live Essentials 2012 - Live Mail. and have been doing so for about a year. Now when ever I try to create a new calendar event it will not let me do so and reports that Live Mail is having a problem reading the message. I find this very strange as all message have been read, deleted or junked and I am trying to use the calendar not the mail section.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem.
Would also just like to state that Live Mail 2010 was the greatest mail program ever - it was stupid to have made any changes to it.
    Regards
    Michael

I am having this problem as well, Error message says.
"A problem has occurred while trying to open message.
A problem has occurred. Please try again."
I have uninstalled windows live twice, downloaded again the re-installed to make sure there was not a corrupt file - Still no good.

For the last week I receive e-mails on Windows Live Mail 2012 but can't open them. The error message says "A problem has occurred while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred." I can't send any e-mails. The message I get says "the e-mail address is in the wrong format" and nothing about the e-mail address has changed. I can access the email on my server's website. On my other identity on the same computer I have no problem receiving e-mail, opening it and sending e-mail. I am with Consolidated Communications.

            Thanks
