Question about Outlook Express

How do I unlink hot mail from Windows live mail.  Every time I open windows live mail, I am asked to sign in to my Hotmail account, and I do not want this.  I only download mail from my POP3 account and only have one email account listed in windows live mail, but the system just keeps asking me every time I open it.  I don't want to sign in to Hotmail as I DO NOT use this account for anything.

A couple of days ago, when I forward incoming emails, the font changes to HUGE I have set all settings to a 14 font.  What could the issue be??

On Friday June 24, 2015:

1. I attempted to sign into my live.com account. I was told that someone else was possibly using my account (I'm 99% positive this appeared because I was using my live.com account on a different computer). 

2. I was told to either confirm a code using the alternative email address I provided or by clicking that I could not verify my account. Because I do not know the password to my alternative email address, I could not get the code that way. Therefore, I clicked that I could not verify my account. 

3. I filled out the questionnaire twice. The first time it said that my account was blocked because it did not seem like the account was mine. The second time I received a message saying:

"Congratulations! We have confirmed that you are the owner of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@live.com. An additional email with a link to reset your password has been sent to this email address."

4. I DID NOT receive a follow up email allowing me the opportunity to reset my password. I have checked my spam folder, trash folder, and went through my entire email and IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN SENT. 

5. Since I had already filled out the questionnaire twice, upon my third attempt to fill it out I was told I had tried it too many times and needed to wait 24 hrs before I could fill it out again. 

6. I attempted to have a security change and added my cell phone number to the account so I could possibly receive a code through text messaging. Now when I attempt to sign into the live.com account, I am told that there the security change will take 30 days to complete, however I should still be able to use my account without a problem. THIS IS NOT TRUE, SINCE I CANNOT SIGN INTO MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE I WAS NEVER GIVEN THE RE-SET PASSWORD LINK.

ON SATURDAY JULY 25, 2015:

1. I filled out the questionnaire AGAIN (the first attempt on 7/25/15). I was sent an email saying that my account could not be verified thus further blocking my account, AGAIN. Let it be noted, I filled out the questionnaire the EXACT SAME WAY as when I received the confirmation email on 7/24/15.

2. I filled out the questionnaire AGAIN (the second attempt on 7/25/15). Again, I was sent an email saying that the live.com account was not mine. Let it be noted, I filled out the questionnaire the EXACT SAME WAY as when I received the confirmation email on 7/24/15.

3. Since I could not post a question without a Microsoft account, I made a temporary account so I could post my question in hopes of gaining access to my live.com account. 

4. I would like for it to be noted that the customer service for Microsoft is atrocious and I will be deleting both outlook and windows live mail accounts as soon as I am able to access the live.com account because jumping through all these circles is absolutely ridiculous. 

I would appreciate some prompt customer service in this matter. Thank you. 

Do I have to give my firstborn or sacrifice an elderly parent to make this incompetent piece of garbage do what it was supposedly made to do? Why, when I click send to mail recipient, does it instead load a window that says "Checking new messages" while downloading thousands of e-mails of spam from my junk folders?  Are the people who design the software mentally inept or are they purposefully trolling people with their auto downloading of over a decades worth of **** "feature"?

i am having problems syncing my windows live mail calendar between my two computers running windows 7.

the problems used to be intermittent until a couple of weeks ago but it is now not syncing at all.

attempt #1 -i have tried deleting/renaming the calendar file under my user account and restarting windows live mail

attempt #1 restores my primary calendar, but all my secondary calendars are missing.

i have also tried repairing and reinstalling windows live program - did not fix anything 

the hotmail (calendar.live.com) has my entries but i cannot stand the color scheme and prefer the windows live mail view

SSL is not enabled.  Mail works ok.

please advise with steps to fix

I am computer naive and need help accessing calender and contacts in windows live mail please. My old pc burned out but I have the harddrive and transferred most of the data to a mac with windows 7. I can't get the windows live mail to work, can't remember the original email or password used to set it up long ago. I thought I would be able to access it using microsoft name & password but can't. Am I way off track, is it all lost? Thank you in advance.
