My computer crashed about a month ago and it's fixed now (new hard drive) and they backed up everything they said, but been u nable to find Microsoft Live with e-mails, folders, etc.  How can I get these back or can I?  Some were pretty important.  Thanks!  I'm confused because there seems to be lots of "helpers" out there but afraid to trust them!

Since I updated to Windows 10, 3 of my 5 email addresses won't send or receive. Two of them are Hotmail addresses, one is an Outlook address. The error message for all of them says it's a Server error 3204, and has a WLM error ID of 0x8DE200003. To the best of my knowledge there's no difference in my five email accounts. Two are working just fine, three won't send or receive. How can I get them all working? Thanks.

I have recently installed windows 10 and can no longer get my emails which were previously in windows live mail. Pop up keeps saying Error 3204. Any ideas how to solve the problem before I tear my hair out!

Hello

Seem to have lost some sub-folders. Added an outlook.com account and the sub-folders in my live.co.uk account seem to have vanished, therefore removed extra account hoping it would revert but hasn't? A little confused need help.

I have been using Windows Live Mail 2011 for years, for several e-mail accounts. A couple of days ago I started getting error messages for an imap account (hosted by GoDaddy). They say the server hasn't responded in 60 seconds; or this:

***********************************

Unable to send or receive messages for the Harold (imap) account. Header download for the 'Sent Items' folder did not complete. Could not download new messages from the IMAP server.

Server Response: Error in IMAP command received by server.
Server: 'imap.secureserver.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCCD2
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 143
Secure(SSL): No

************************************

I tried turning off SSL and changing the port; I installed WLM 2012. Nothing helped.

I seem to be getting e-mail in spite of this. GoDaddy hosts this account; they say there's nothing wrong at their end. When I look at the imap inbox via a browser, the messages are the same as those in the WLM inbox.

I don't have this problem with other e-mail accounts (Comcast, Compuserve, live.com).

One other thing, something I've never seen before. In WLM, one message has a strike-through on From, Subject and Date. When I try to open it, I get an error message saying a problem has occurred. I can't delete it because the "X" is greyed-out, as is "Delete" in the right-click menu. Where the message should appear in the preview window, there is this:

*********************************************

Message is no longer available on the server

Windows Live Mail is unable to retrieve the requested message because the server no longer has the message available.

*********************************************

But when I look at the in-box on the web site, the message is there and readable.

Hoping for help with this.

[Original title: Error messages]

Since I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 I am unable to send and receive messages from Windows Live Email.  I get the following error.  I use a secure PIN to access as well. I replaced the account with XXXXX.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (XXXXX) account.

Server Error: 0x800488E7
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488E7

any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

After upgrade to window 10, cannot open wlmail.exe, showing missing msvr110.dll. How to remedy that without reinstalling the mail as I didn't backup my mail. Urgent. Thanks

Like a growing list of people, I've upgraded to Windows 10 (Home 32 bit) from W7 and can now only receive messages with Live Mail - if I try to reply or create a mail the program locks up & has to be ended with Task Manager.

I've tried:

  • Repair (reportedly successfully) but still have the problem
  • Uninstall/reinstall but still have the problem
  • Created a new account but still have the problem

The only other thing to add is that when I first upgraded I had a problem of not being able to use Live Mail at all but this was resolved by resetting the passwords.

Every now and then Windows Live Mail will delete a new email in my unread mail folder - when I'm getting new email - and it will show up for a second, and then suddenly vanish. I have not clicked on anything. I am reading the mail and it disappears. I  have no idea where it goes. It isn't in any of my mail folders, not in junk or delete files, either. Where do they go and how do I get this to stop? I need to save these emails and now they're gone without a trace. It happened when I used Windows 7 and even now with new Windows 10.
