For the past six months this message has appeared on my screen after start up (not always just nearly always) : 'There was a problem that cause Windows Live ID Sign in Assistant to be disabled . You might not be able to sign in etc etc'. What causes this and how do I get rid of it, or do I have to get rid of Windows Live mail? I don't which category or topic (below) this question applies to but I'll send this anyway.

[Original title: Windows Live ID]

I cannot receive e-mails as I keep getting asked for the password which is not accepted.

I have Windows 10. Up to a week ago I was receiving and sending e-mails okay

My laptop with the same set up is fine.

I can access my Webmail ( Tiscali )

I have tried WLM repair and checked all the passwords correspond.

Nobody seems to be able to come up with an answer as I see many people with the same problem on Forums.

                                      Please advise

Now background has gone black and is unreadable. Have tried reloading Live mail to no avail Please help don't like the new mail in Windows 10.

I upgraded to Windows 10, didn't like it, and went back to Windows 7.  Since then, my email account is working fine, but my wife's email is having problems.  We both use Windows Live Mail 2011.  When she opens her email account, a separate window appears that says "Recovering the Windows Live Mail Database".  She now has over 1000 messages in her Deleted Items folder.  Each one is duplicated.  I can delete the one flagged as unread (I think, it is bolded), but not the duplicate that has been read as it is dithered out.  When I try to delete one of the dithered ones, a window appears that says "an unknown error occurred".  I set her program to empty the deleted items folder when closing the email account, but it didn't help.  The duplicates are still there.  How do I get rid of all these unwanted emails?

I am using Windows Live Mail 2012. I would like to know  how to import messages from old  drive into Windows Live Mail 2012.

Windows Live Mail 2011 had an Import function, but 2012 doesn't have one. Can you help?

I had MSE installed with another software "WEBROOT" and they where both working fine. Then all of a sudden I try to do a full scan of MSE and it runs for 7hours and never finishes. It said during the pre-scan it may have detected malware. I noticed it was stuck on C:/windows/installer/$patchcatche$/mananged. I tried to run it several times to finish but it would always hang. My WEBROOT never detected anything. So I started to notice I could not get on IE it kept app crashing.

Eventually I deleted the MSE from my computer and Re-started PC and  IE started working again. But I noticed that there are files left over from MSE and it states I need Permission from system to remove file msseces (Microsoft Security Client User Interface from pc. There are more files I can list.

I can go to Programs and Files and enter Microsoft Security Essentials and it is there and I CAN still run a scan like it was never deleted. I have tried to install the Microsoft Fix It utility and even revo but my PC will not let me download a file keeps saying error. I also saw where MSE was still in my start-up so I disabled it. Please let me know if there is any way to clear the clutter out.  MSE has worked for me in the past it just all of sudden froze and I would like to get rid of it.

msseces.exe is still running in task manager process

The connection to the server has failed.

Also  How does one turn on pop up blockers on Windows 10

I recently installed Windows Live and want to add all contacts from an email. I see how to add the sender but want to add all the recipients. In the previous version I would simply open the email and go to tools and add them all. However when I open the email the tools tab is missing. Plus the tools tab in the main Mail/Inbox view only has two options: Send/Receive and Work Offline. Thanks.
received message saying email account locked/suspended and need security key to open. request key but is sent to email account that was an old works email that is now defunked.  tried answering security questions but can't supply enough data to unlock account.  problem now having is that all my other logins send password info to locked email account so can't get onto them either.  BTW this is my Dad's email account and he's in his 70's so can be excused for forgetting passwords.  any suggestions gratefully received.

WIndows Live mail authentification fails and asks for a pin number after using the application password in the two step verification process.

Steps:

Windows Live Mail signon Window appears  when I open Windows Live Mail

I goto Microsoft Security Settings Website(https://account.live.com/proofs/AppPassword) to create application password

I create application password

copy application password and paste it into WLM signon screen

Error message box appears and asks to enter pin number.

I am assuming it requests the pin number used to signon to Windows10

Back to WLM signon screen and enter pin

It then rejects pin number (Of course) -- invalid password.

No clue what to do next.  This process worked in Windows 7 since I didn't have the option of using my Microsoft signon to sign into Windows.  WLM appears to be conflicted between my Windows signon and and my Microsoft signon as I switched to a personal Windows userid, because of all the folder security issues occurring with my Microsoft signon in Windows10.  But that's another story.

This is just an annoyance as I am able to cancel out of the signon screen and continue using WLM.
