I've had an issue on 2 completely different machines both using windows live mail 2011. First call I received I taught it was a user mistake. But when my neighbor came to me with the same problem after only 10 minutes after his upgrade and only using WLM11 I figured this might be on account of W10.

Both upgraded to windows 10 and their contacts dissappeared.

So I started my search and found numerous topics on where to find the contact lists.

Going to the directory I found a few folders that I all checked but showed empty as if they were gone.

I then checked the folder size of the complete "Contacts" folder. Which in one case was over 160 MB, and in the other over 188 MB.

This size was given to folders that show completely empty apart from the folders itself. So technically windows 10 shows me empty folders but shows a size of more than 160&180 MB. 

Could it be that windows 10 hides files? I've also checked "hidden" files but nothing there either. Has w10 corrupted the data in these folders? Is there any way to recover his contacts? He & she never signed in with WLM11.

Mc Afee is wanting more money and warning me everytime I log on...tried to remove but won't leave...uninstall runs forever....and McAfee still there.Firewall is off...I want to remove McAfee and use windows essential but can't find download for windows or how to turn firewall on? This is a question about Windows Live accounts/security not Windows Live email (since I don't use that) but I can't seem to find any forum that deals with that.

Over the years I have setup multiple Windows Live accounts -- each of which uses a different email address.  The purpose of this was to seperate out various types of interests when using Microsoft forums. 

I just came across the fact that I can have mutiple email addresses associated with the same Windows Live account.

Assume the email accounts are: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

All of the above accounts are registered seperately in the various collections of Microsoft forums (i.e. Answers, Technet, etc) and have distinct subscriptions.

*** Email address is removed for privacy *** is associated with my identity as a Microsoft Partner.

If I delete Email2 and Email3 from Microsoft Live and then add them to my Email1 account what is the impact on:
1. The individual profiles setup in the various Microsoft forums.  For example, if I use Email2 to log into Microsoft Live and access the Technet forums will I see the activity (points, posts, etc.) associated with Email2 or the activity (points, posts, etc.) associated with Email1.
2. What happens to the subscription settings under each of the email addresses?

My concern is that signing in with an alias will return the same security token as signing in with the primary email address and thus everything associated with the other email addresses will be lost.

After I downloaded the upgrade to Windows 10 I was unable to send and receive email in Windows Live Mail from my Hotmail email account. All other emails work fine.

This is the error message that appeared.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (XXXXXXXXXXX) account.

Server Error: 3204
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

I have searched online for the error message and found a link to a Microsoft help page providing a fix. I ran the program fix and at the end the program said it had identified an error.

I restarted my PC and still the problem remains.

Please can you advise what I can do.

My server identified an e-mail as spam, and now I can do e-mail thru my server account, but I can't send any e-mails using Windows Live Mail, which isn't syncing with my server. How do I get past the error message in my Windows Live Mail when using the e-mail service?

Any emails with an attachment will not download and it keeps the emails that came in from last email download until the email with attachment tries to come in from downloading.  I get the following error message:  

Unable to send or receive messages for the Frontiernet (***) account. Your server has     unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

I have Norton Anti virus on the computer.  Disabling it does not correct the problem.  I have gone to Windows Live Mail safety Options and unchecked "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". and that did not solve the problem either. 

I can send emails with small attachments.  I cannot send multiple photographs at once.

How can I get emails with attachments to download?
