I have Windows 7 64 bit and am using Windows Live Mail.  Something is wrong with my email contacts!

Have 24 different categories and close to 700 email contacts.  When I rebuilt my computer after frying the hard drive and replacing it, brought in an old contact list of 4 1/2 years ago, because the Dell DataSafe software that I had everything backed up on didn't bring the email addresses back.

Now the email list is First Name, Last Name and Email Addresses.  When I put 43 of the email addresses into one of the categories and went to send the same email to all of them, it froze and I lost the 1/2 hour of work.  Then, when I looked at that category, it showed the 43 email addresses, but when I started a new email for that category (and hit the plus sign-next to the category name), only 11 of the 43 email addresses were at the top of the email message I had hoped to send.

I went on the web, to no avail for help.  When I went back to that category, it showed the 43 email addresses and I started a new email and there aren't any email addresses at the top of the message after hitting the + sign next to the category name!  I'll bet I have spent over 50 hours rebuilding my email list and now I can't even send a blast to 43 people at once!

What can I do to correct this?

Also, how can I get a copy of those 700 email addresses in another file, in case my computer crashes again?

Please can you explain to a technophobe exactly how to do that ... I use yahoo as my mail server and have no idea  how to"enable the leave copy of messages on server ".....

I have approached yahoo who have referred me to their engineers dept. but they keep closing my case thinking it is fixed.

As soon as I do anyhting I get the same 150 odd emails back in my inbox as well as an error 18 message justbefore it does so.  There are also some rogue spam mails amongst them which keep changing and don't seem to be being dealt with  if I send them to Spam.

I tried  stopping trying to delete them hoping that it wouldn't happen again, but it does as soon as I do anyhting in my account.

Hi:  Here is a problem I see with Windows Live Mail backup of contacts - I worked hard to fill in all the fields that are important to me on my contacts.  One is there birthday - so - after I got my contacts all perfect - I backed them up using the .csv options and selected all the fields available.  Then, I went to another PC and did a import and guess what - NO BIRTHDAYS!  That sucks - even trying import from Google Contacts didn't work - If you have a field in your contacts that has data in it - you should be able to export it and save it or what is the point of having the field there.   This needs to be FIXED

Now I have developed this problem of Live Mail not going online.  I have ie11, so no 'work offline' button.  I have reset ie - no help.  Have repaired WLM, no help.  Clicking the work offline button, on WLM places it in offline mode, but clicking again, does not make it go back online.  Doing a send/receive mail does make it say 'working online', after I close the mail status window, but it is not really doing so.  This is evident by the speed it whips through my accounts - less than a second, for 10 accounts.  Windows 7x64/wlm2012.  tia, for any guidance.

Since updating to windows 10, I have been unable to access one of my email accounts but have had no problem syncing the other.   Both are btinternet addresses.   I just keep getting a message to say the account needs attention, it asks me to enter my password but nothing happens.
I have installed Windows Essentials in order to get Live Family Safety on my computer and set up an adult account, but now it will not let me access my computer except through this account. When I try and access what comes up as the Owner account it asks me for an administrator password. I can now not access any of my files, photos etc. When I try and uninstall Live Family Safety or restore system I am again asked for an administrator password, but I don't believe I ever had one. My computer is a Dell Inspiron and I have Windows 7.
I am trying to email the calendar I filled out to friends but can't put into livemail as an attachment, in the body of the email message or forward it from calendar view. How do I email the calendar???
