Windows Live Mail 2012 opens fine.  It loads my mail fine.  It downloads new mail fine.  When I click on Email message, it opens the window to compose a new message but the font and font size entries are blank and I can't click in the message body to compose an email.  After approximately 30 seconds the font and size entries fill in and I can then compose the email.  If I close the message window and reopen it, everything loads very quickly.  If I close Windows Live Mail and reopen it, I have to go through the whole 30 second process again.  I have run the Essentials repair and I have reinstalled.  I have started Windows with minimal drivers and get the same problem.  I have turned off antivirus and get the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have duplicate contacts in my WLM contact list. (1) Network contact (2) Personal contact.

I have been trying to delete the NETWORK contact by r clicking and the option is not there to allow me to delete (remove) from contact list.

Windows Live Mail worked on Windows 10 for a month or two then stopped coming up. I tried to re-install Windowss Live Essentials and the installer just sat there and spun "preparing for install". So I uninstalled Live Mail and tried again. Same thing. Can Windows Live Mail work on Windows 10? I hate the preinstalled Windows 10 mail app

I installed Windows 10 a week ago and everything seemed to be fine. However, 2 days later, Windows Live Mail became inaccessible. The timing circle spun round and round and, eventually - after 10 minutes or more, the following notice was displayed. Windows Live Mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disc is not full or that you are out of memory. (0x80041161)

After  a 2-hour visit by my local computer repairer man, everything seemed to work OK again (except that e-mails put into the Draft file immediately froze and I couldn't recover them to work on them again.

2 days later (this afternoon), Windows Live Mail became inaccessible again, the same timing circle spinning and the same notice about memory appeared.

My computer repairer man is on his way to fix the problem - AGAIN - but I have little hope that he will resolve the problem.

I am regretting downloading Windows 10.

How is it that a program (Windows Live Mail) that is supposed to be compatible with Windows 10 fails so miserably?

How is it that trouble-shooting the problem(s) is so difficult?

What a failure by Microsoft!

Should I change to Apple?

Give me an escape from my misery - PLEASE!

I purchased a new laptop with windows 10. Saturday I transferred all my data.  Got windows live mail up where it would bring in new mail but would not let me send mail. Sunday I was having same problem.  Could not send email.  Changed ports still did not work.  Monday when I logged in there was no access to Windows live mail at all.  I have no access to contacts or any emails.  I tried going through the mail account on computer and entereing information.  I will not do it.  It is coming back with an error code of 0x8007274c. Is anyone else having this problem?  Thanks for your help

1,  I've just upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7.  I receive all my payment notifications through my mail program.  In the past I'd highlight and print the pertinent section of an email for my records from Windows Live Mail.  It looks like Win10's Mail doesn't allow a section of an email to print without going through many additional steps of cutting and pasting to another program.  Is this correct?  I need a hard copy, but want to minimize the use of paper and toner.

2.  Is there a way to reorder accounts and folders within Mail?

I'm sure there are 3rd party apps to allow Win 10 to act like Win 7, but I'd rather not go that route.  Surely these are such basic functions that they're possible with Mail, I just haven't figured it out.

Thanks in advance,

John

problems since installing Windows 10

1. date and time appear in Afar (a Somalian/Ethiopian etc language) & I can find no means of changing to English (UK), my language elsewhere in Windows 10

2. Windows 10 Mail does not allow me to add an important (to me) email account - only my Apple one and MS ones

3. I cannot find a means of recording Sent emails in Windows 10 - is there a Mail Settings place?

4. Windows 10 Mail has not carried forward my Windows 7 Contacts, so I assume I have to rebuild that by hand. I have all my Contacts in a folder, but can find no means of loading them into Windows 10

5. I tried Repairing Windows Live Mail from my Windows 7 set-up in the hope that the two mailers would merge, but that did not happen. I therefore Uninstalled Windows Live Mail, saving my emails to a folder. However, I can find no way of linking them to Windows 10 Mail.

Windows 10 looks pretty but there seems to be no way of getting "under the hood/bonnet" to get things working. I long for MS DOS!!

Hi Guys

When we used to use Outlook express as a business I could run a script to send the latest address book list into the Address book folder to all of our client PCs in XP.

We are now using Win7 and Live Mail 2012

Is there a way we can do the same thing?

I don't want to use the file > import option in Live mail as that will be a very manual task especially for over 300 machines

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)

FYI Active directory is not an option as we want to limit who they can email to in the business
