I don't want to use Windows Mail. I have MS Outlook 2016 set up. How do I get my mail/calendar switched over to Outlook?

I've been using windows live mail 2011 successfully for a long time for my gmail account ( set up by wizard so uses IMAP folders).  I have no other email accounts. Suddenly , during a session , my sent mail was no longer appearing in my 'Sent Mail' folder. I suspect some local file corruption. If I send messages using the gmail webmail the messages DO appear in the local 'Sent Mail'  folder so IMAP synchronisation is working OK. The sent messages were still appearing in the local All Mail folder and I can move them OK to 'Sent Mail'. and get them synchronised)

I tried reading all relevant 'answers' to similar problems.

I moved all sent messages from 'Sent Mail' to a subfolder in 'All Mail' in order to empty the 'Sent Mail' and used 'properties' to click DELETE all messages and headers. This did not work.

I removed the gmail account from live mail , and set it up again ( using the wizard).

I have used from control panel the 'repair windows live essentials'.

I've unset and reset the box for 'save copy of sent messages in the 'sent items'. And rebooted lots of times. I've reviewed all likely settings and they are unchanged. I've reset the IMAP folder list.

I'm hoping there is a simple remedy as I've now spent many hours 'experimenting' with no success.

Hi - I seem to have a problem opening up any links from within the body of an email in windows live mail. If I click on any links within an email, I get the message "the wait operation has timed out" .
I installed & Uninstalled Windows 10 because Windows Live 2012 e-mail did not load.  Now that I'm back to Windows 7 my Windows Live 2012 e-mail is not the same as when I left it-I'm missing hundreds of e-mails and all my catagories.  I'm also unable to do a recovery to a previous date.  HELP!! Can I get back my old e-mail setup with multiple addresses or do I cry and suck it up and install a new e-mail program?

How do I transfer Groups (Contact Lists) from an older computer to a new one?  Over the years, I have set up lots of Groups, but when transferring contacts to a new computer, it seems the only method available is a CSV file, which is essentially plain text and does not handle Groups at all.

The good old Outlook Express is the only email program that could import and export Groups of contacts.  Microsoft chose to abandon it in favor of a stripped down version of Outlook Express that they now call Windows Live Mail, which can't import or export groups.  Microsoft encourages us to set up groups, but then offers no way to preserve them, no way to export or back up Groups.

I am getting really disappointed in Microsoft.  I do not trust it any more.  I cannot rely on Windows Live Mail.  I will seek a better email program.  But, in the meantime, it would be nice to hear that maybe I am wrong and maybe there is a way to transfer Groups after all.

I imported my Contacts from an older computer to my new one.  I ended up with almost every contact being duplicated.  I have used the "Clean Up Contacts" button several times already.  Each time, I get thrown out of Windows Live Mail and onto a web page called "People". The duplicate contacts get removed on the "People" web page, but back in my own copy of W@indows Live Mail they are still there.  Why does the "Clean up Contacts" button lead me to some other place instead of cleaning up the contacts on my own computer?  And how can I clean up the duplicates on my computer?   I don't see any "Sync" button to synchronize my local list with the list that is online.

By the way, the online list seems to have something to do with Outlook.com, or at least so it appears when I try to click on the Help link there.  That seems like a weird connection to Outlook.  I don't use Outlook.  I use Windows Live Mail.  Microsoft seems to offer no help for Windows Live Mail.  How can one trust a company that offers no support for its own products?

After upgrading I found an anomaly with the "Sounds" associated.

In 8.1 the sounds were "hidden" under the "MailBeep" keys in Regedit.  The sounds applet did not accept custom sounds in the "Desktop Mail Notification" event.

In some builds of WPTP the Sounds translated.  When I upgraded to WIN 10 (10240) the registry correctly tracked my custom sounds.

With this build the sounds reverted to "Windows Notify Email." So I manually set the values under the "MailBeep" key.

I used this "script" (file.reg for example) to change back to my preference.  Substitute your custom sound for "Mail2.wav"

Be sure to create a restore point before working with Regedit!

There may be other older sound schemes.

HTH.

I use Windows 7 and Windows live mail. I have received a side show via email and each photo # is listed in the text as DSC-001.jpg; DSC-002.jpg; etc.

I have not discovered how to copy these photos to my PC

Hi team,

I Can't start Windows Live family Safety because UXCore.dll is missing from computer.

This happened after upgrade to Windows 10 and revert back to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I reverted back to Windows 7 because I didn't like the way windows 10 handled Family safety.

I have already performed clean uninstall using "c:program files (x86)windows liveinstallerwlarp.exe" /cleanup:all /q.

I have uninstalled several times.

After above clean uninstall I have re-installed using windows essentials offline installer at this link http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/essentials

I have re-installed several times.

This has not worked and I Still get the error that uxcore.dll is missing.

I have also used other uninstallers to perform a clean uninstall. No luck.

I have deleted the Windows Live Folders from program files and also registry keys and performed uninstall and reinstall with no luck.
Is it possible for support to provide the file so i can just place it in the directory.

Thank you.

I am starting to use the Calendar function on my Windows Mail to block out room nights for my bed and breakfast.  The color of  the display is a light blue, which does not show up well when I print it for staff.  Is there any way to change the color setting of the display (I would even be happy with black and white if it prints okay).

Thank you.

John
