Today I've come to set up Windows Live Mail 2012 so my dad can access his emails when he needs to, he has a supanet account. I've went through the steps: provided account details, server ports and connections, ticked that it needs authentication when sending and everything like that. It's loaded all his emails perfectly fine but when I'm testing the send function it keeps giving me:

The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for *** Email address is removed for privacy ***', please contact your email service provider.

Subject 'test19'
Server Error: 550
Server Response: 550 You need to authenticate when sending from ***.***.**.*** (IP address)
Server: 'smtp.supanet.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC79
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

Can anyone help me fix this please

I was looking for  WLM  on this computer,  it what I always use for email, I just had installed Win 10 last week

When I clicked on the installer a  pop up appeared saying it needed repaired, I clicked on that and it appeared it was repairing it viewing the green line like you see with updates. After that the Windows Live starting  window came up then disappeared, I could not find WLM again, when I clicked on the mail icon in the menu bar I got this

Windows essentials is in program files, do I need to uninstall this? then reinstall?

Why didn't this just work, doesn't MS test these problems before they offer upgrades?

I don't consider Win 10 free as it taking too much of my time.

Thanks in advance

I am using Outlook 2010.  For the last week or so, all the emails I send are received at the other end marked as Spam.  How can I solve this problem. This is a new development.  Until recently it all worked perfectly.

I have Windows 7, 64x and Windows Live Mail.  I do not have Skype, but I have tried to download it recently, thinking it was free.  Backed out and deleted when I learned otherwise (I say this because some help answers mention Skype as a possible culprit to my problem):

1.  I cannot delete any WLM contacts.  I go through the process, as I have in the past, and everything looks good, but when I confirm I want to delete the contact, it just doesn't go away.  I've tried several contacts and none of them will delete.

2.  WLM also won't let me add any contacts either.  I get the message, "The message could not be saved.  Check the contact's information and try again."

Is there anyone out there who has had a similar problem and found an answer?

I am trying to download Zune software to my laptop. It keep prompting me that it is "unable to find volume for file extraction" and it also asks if I have the "proper permissions". What does it mean and how can I overcome it and get the software?

My elderly mother crashed her e-mail somehow.  She has Comcast as a provider, and there is Live Mail icon on her desktop, which she would click and her mail would come up.  Anything beyond clicking the icon is too complicated for her (i.e. going into Comcast online and signing in, which does indeed work bypassing Live Mail).  So I have to get the Mail to work from the desktop icon.

After this crash you click the icon and the Mail comes up and there is nothing in any of the folders, and all folders (inbox, sent, etc)  There is a thin black bar at the top of the page and below is a message "Unable to display folder".

Does anyone know what I may do to fix this.  I tried uninstalling Live Mail and re-installing but when I did that it restored to her old e-mail and I get the same error message.

Thanks for any help
