I have my school email account with outlook, but wanted to know if its possible to add that account in Windows Live Mail. I just like the way Windows Live Mail looks and operates. My email has @my.scccd.edu. I looked it up a bit, and the schools forum says thats the Windows Live ID, so I set it up as such, but when it tries to sync with my email, it keeps popping up a dialog box telling me to enter my username and password.  I had tried setting it up based on outlooks settings, POP and IMAP, but I can't seem to get it to work. Is it possible to add that type of email to Windows Live? If so, how?

Thanks for the help.

This error has appeared after 3 years of successfully using Outlook as my mail programme linked to a hotmail account. There also appears to be a sysc error appearing.

The left window showing the list of emails functions, where I can delete or flag or use the icon tools there, but the messages do not show up in the preview window to the right, nor can I open them up by clicking on them directly, rendering the interface unusable.

I have not changed or done anything to alter my settings.

Is this a known problem with a solution?

Problems with Live Mail. First some background;

Windows 7 64 bit Pro

I have multiple email addresses, both from my Internet Provider as well as a third party site. I get the same error message from both sites.

I ran a "Clean Disc" program and now unfortunately when I try to access email I get the following message;

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Subject 'test'
Server: 'mail.gmx.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

I know others have posted this problem as well, but I haven't seen an answer that will help me. The steps I have taken;

1. I did a complete registry clean

2. Ran a System Scan - resulting in a message that "not all errors could be repaired"

3. Opened up the CBS Log - about a mile long. I am enclosing a few "snips" below that mention errors couldn't be repaired.

4. An obvious Fix would be to "restore my computer to an earlier state". Unfortunately my Clean Disc also wiped out all my Restore Points as well!

5. I uninstalled Live Mail - again cleaning the Registry of any reference to the program.

6. Installed a fresh version of Live Mail, expecting to reenter all new Account Information. To my surprise, the program was fully intact including the Error Messages.

My Live Mail Messages are on a different hard drive, but of course Mail is configured to access them. I could backup all the messages on still a different Hard Drive delete the messages that are currently being accessed then again reinstall Live Mail (it wouldn't be able to assess any old messages - they would have been moved to a different drive). Reenter my various Account(s) information, then import the saved messages.

Does anyone think that would work?

Any other suggestions, Ideas? Really need help on this.

A few random clips from the CBS Log - I have the complete log available.

Trying to help friend with his Live Mail (LM)  problem. He's running Windows 7 Home Premium

Originally he was running LM version 2011.  When opening LM he gets the window stating "Recovering Live Mail Database".  Then he gets the window stating  "Windows Live Mail has stopped working" followed by a window stating "Windows Live Mail is restarting" then back to the beginning -  "Recovering Live Mail Database".  So in an endless loop.

Tried to run the repair function via control panel/programs and features but no change.

Turned of AV and  updated to Windows Live mail version 2012 but no change.

Uninstalled Live Essentials (LE); all elements including Mail.  checked program files to ensure LE gone.

Downloaded LE 2012 but installed Mail only; no change !!!

What's happening??   Would of thought by uninstalling and reinstalling I have a clean application but as soon as I open it I'm back to recovering the database and the endless loop

I had a LM backup created using Static Backup and when I uninstalled and reinstalled I restored this.  This was successfully done but when I open LM, I'm back to recovering the database and the endless loop.  Cannot seem to get out of this cycle.

Can anyone help is resolving this issue. ?????

I changed my outlook password through my phone because I forgot it now  I'm locked out of my laptop because I have to sign in with the last password I entered but that's the password I forgot..can anyone help please?
My windows mail on del ispiron 1720 windows vista has never worked and i wondered if any one knows why? I cannot find how to set the correct email server and the incoming and ougoing emailservers although I know what they are. I just keep getting that there are errors

When I try to forward an email with pictures included I get an error message asking if I want to continue to sent the email without the pictures.  Using windows live mail using windows 10 but the operating system does not make a difference as the same thing happend with 8.

If I go to hotmail.com and forward the same email with the pictures there is not a problem and the email is sent with the pictures so the issue is with WLM and not the sender's email or the pictures.  This has been a problem for at least 3 years.  I downloaded WLM December of 2014.  I assume that is the latest release.

I want to keep my sent emails on my PC. Right now when I go on my email server and delete messages it also deletes them off of my PC. This did not happen prior to me using Windows 10. I am sure it is a simple setting. However, I have been unable to find the setting.
