The problem existed in Windows 7 and I hoped it would be resolved with Windows 10.  My internet service provider said it is not their problem but a Microsoft problem.  What can I do?

I cannot log in to my Windows Live Mail. It repeatedly tells me fault code 0x80004004

I just got an email to my Hotmail saying:

"In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use.

In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here." https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49486

Won't this just come with the normal Windows 7 updates (even if they're optional)?

Original title: Outlook Mail.

I have Outlook live essentials 2011. I have been informed that I need to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 to continue to receive mail. (Or service will end in a few weeks)

My problem is I'm being told by Microsoft that my desktop computer is not compatible with Windows 10. I'm currently using Hotmail and Gmail with Outlook 2011 live essentials. Any suggestions for a mail server?

I am presently on Windows 7 - delaying the UPGRADE.  I just got a message from Microsoft saying Windows Live 2011 will be going away and I need to change my email.  I like having all my email in one place rather than individual log ins.  I see there's a Windows Live 2012 being used but can't find the download.  Is it available for Windows 7 users?

Microsoft is trying to force us to upgrade to '10' but I am in no hurry and would like to continue to use LIVE for email but need some help.  Any ideas/solutions for me?

Thanks,

CK

I logged into my windows live mail account earlier with no problem. I then saw Microsoft email saying that Windows Live 2011 is not supported anymore and to use Outlook.

I had already set up Outlook so decided to log on to make sure I could still log on ok.

I logged onto one of my email accounts with no trouble.

When I tried to log onto my second email account it asked for verification and sent a code for me to verify the email. I used the code and am able to access the Outlook email account but I cannot access my emails through Windows Live Mail.

I reset my password when prompted password but this hasn't worked and I just keep getting 'Microsoft account unusual activity sign in activity', error code Ox80048821.

My other account is still accessible through Windows Live.

I prefer to sign in through Live Mail as it is more convenient - all my email boxes are displayed but in Outlook you have to log into each account separately.

Can anyone help please - I have selected the Outlook category as there is none for Live Mail

I am a senior citizen and am thoroughly confused with all the changes with Microsoft and its various programs.  I was told Windows Live will no longer exist and that I must use Outlook.com.  I signed into this by have no idea as how to get into it - is there a shortcut that I can put on the Taskbar?

Now I am concerned that Microsoft Security Essentials will be discontinued, if so, what can I use to replace it?

I also keep getting a reminder to upgrade by computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  At this stage in life I do not look forward to trying to learn a whole new technical program as I am finding that these get more complicated and harder to understand.  Why can't I keep using my Windows 7?

I liked Microsoft years ago as I was able to get a computer at a reasonable price and found working it not that hard, but, as time goes on your products get more complicated and harder to operate and understand.  I realize the world is changing and understand the need for updating, however, is there not a place for those of us who do not have multiple gadgets and have smart phones etc.  I have no need for these items?  Just wish someone out there would listen!

Original title: Bug  in Calendar

I think I've found a bug in Calendar. While viewing the December 2015 calendar, I scrolled back to look at the December 2014 calendar. When I scrolled back to December 2015, birthdays were not displayed. I had to shut down and restart Calendar to see the birthdays. This happens viewing Calendar with Firefox or IE. (I'm using Windows 7.)

I have been using WLM 2011 on W7 to handle my 3 accounts ... Outlook, Gmail and a POP3. I also have created many Storage Folders to which I move 'non-active' emails for retention and, where appropriate, for later deletion. Monthly a complete copy of all emails is copied to an ext hd.

Recently I updated my pc to W10 and WLM 2011 is functioning correctly.

I have not updated to WLM 2012 because I understand that I will loose all my settings with regard to Storage Folders ... is this correct? Also the new Windows 10 Mail is not suitable because you cannot create your own personalised Storage Folders ... is this correct?

Can you copy Windows 10 Mail emails to storage on an ext hd

Last question ... since I find WLM 2011 meets my needs will I be able to continue using it on W10 in view of the recent announcement from Outlook.com. I understand however that my Outlook.com account will have to be accessed direct and not via WLM.

Thanks Ron
