Hi,
I received an email from microsoft with the info shown below:
In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live or @msn email account. These changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application that you use.
In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here.
I am running windows 7 and I don't want to upgrade to windows 10. When I try to run the update (Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594) I get the error message shown below:
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

This week Microsoft advised users to apply the above patch else Mail would stop working in a few weeks.. I have applied the patch and now Calendar does not work. When I switch to Calendar from Mail the program crashes with the message that "Windows Live Mail Has Stopped Working". It closes down and restarts but the problem persists. I am using an up to date version of Windows 10.
I have re-installed the un-patched Live Mail and it works fine. However, when the patch is applied it fails again. I am wondering whether it is because I share my Gmail calendar.
I could switch to the Mail App which Microsoft is encouraging users to use but it does not have the facility to use alias email addresses - which is a big deficiency.
There was email from outlook to update the windows live 2012. After updating i am unable to receive and send email in windows live.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall windows live but till this time problem is not resolved and receiving above subject error.
May I request microsoft to immediately look into and resolve the problem as lots of user may be experiencing the error.
Urgently help me to resolve problem.
I upgraded the live mail from 2011 to 2012 version (Build 16.4.3563.0918) on my Windows 7 and 8.1 recently.
Both platforms could not display the attached Chinese file name, but Outlook.com showed correct.
The Outlook.com displayed using utf-8 encoding. The setting of utf-8 in the live mail 2012 did not provide any luck.
Please help!
Thanks
I received an 'Important Information About Your Email Service' email yesterday stating that 'In order to continue using WLM2012 ... you need to install the latest update published here ...'
I clicked the link and performed the update and now can't access my main Hotmail account via LiveMail. I have deleted the Hotmail account from LiveMail and restarted my computer and tried to re Add the email account however when adding the account it just loads the folders but doesn't sync any of the actual emails or let me send or receive emails from the newly added account.
As an alternative I have tried importing all of my email accounts usually accessed via LiveMail into Outlook, but Outlook keeps telling me that LiveMail is still running and needs to be closed to perform this action - yet I have completely shut down LiveMail, removed it from the start menu and restarted my computer but Outlook still says LiveMail is open?
Prior to this LiveMail update and the installation of Windows 10 yesterday my email was operating perfectly.
What is wrong with Microsoft. They send an email telling you that you have to install update KB3093594 or else your Windows Live Mail won't work after they make changes in a couple of weeks. The update CAUSES Windows Live Mail to crash.
Very poor service!
What a mess these updates are.
Thank you,
TomS
I received an email from Microsoft that my version of Windows Live Mail 2012 sould not work in a few weeks unless I upgrade to a newer version. However, when I click on the link to get the newer version I get this message "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later."
Any Suggestions?
Hello,
I am unable to send or receive emails through my account, when I check for emails using send and receive, this message occurs:
Windows Live Mail is synchronising this account. Check again in a few minutes to read your messages.
Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (ursulaallam) account.I have an outlook account and the windows live mail I am using is an app but I also have a normal outlook mail app which I think could be my default mail program. I currently have Windows 10.
I bought a Surface 3 when they first sold in May. I loved the unit until I downloaded Widows 10. Ever since then I have had nothing but problems, most of which have been resolved except one - Email. Can the mail program within Windows 10 be replaced with Live Mail 2012 - it works.
Thank you,
Don
