First let me state that I have just upgraded my machine from Windows 7 using Windows Live Mail (WLM) to Windows 10, 48 hours ago and confess that 24 hours ago I tried to configure and use the new Windows 10 Mail app. And I have come to the conclusion that I am not yet ready for Windows 10 Mail.
I had an impossible time figuring out (don't think I ever got there) how to configure the new Windows 10 Mail app -- and I accidently DID get it to work, but don't remember exactly what I did. Anyway, I ended up with about 700+ emails in the Windows 10 Mail Inbox. [I later found out that there was also 700+ emails in the Inbox on my server (POP3 server, configured to hold mail for 15 days before deleting it].
Since I haven't figured out the new folder business in Windows 10 Mail and since none of my WLM folders were moved/migrated to Windows 10 Mail and since they were also not assessable from Windows 10 Mail -- I finally decided to go back to WLM until I get everything figured out -- and Deleted all of the mail Accounts in Windows 10 Mail.
Well, surprise, surprise, when I went back to my Windows Live Mail, almost the entire days worth of emails for 12/23/15 were missing -- I am guessing because they got downloaded to the Windows 10 Mail app. But, as mentioned above, I discovered the 30-50 email messages I received on 12/23 were still in the InBox on my POP3 server - but WLM will not read them into my system.
So my immediate question is:
1) Is there a way to get WLM to read all of the emails still on the POP3 server sent to me on 12/23/15 -- I guess during the period that I was messing around with Windows 10 Mail.
2) Can you give me some tips (or even Links I can read) that explains what is going on between these two mail programs.
- is Windows 10 Mail intended to replace WLM
- can both be run simultaneously
- is there ay communications between the two
- can WLM folders be migrated to Windows 10 Mail or accessed by Windows 10 Mail
- is the Windows 10 Mail sort of like the Edge browser -- supposed to be small and quick with MUCH LLESS FEATURES
Anyway, I need some help. I know there is a lot of information on these new products out there and honestly I have read a lot of it, but I just haven't found documentation down to the detailed level I am looking for -- but am willing to read more if I can just locate the information -- but right now, I am still kind-of lost.
[And P.S. one last thing -- at 2 am last night I panicked because I could not get WLM to read any mail from the POP3 server, even though I had DELETED all of the mail Accounts in Windows 10 Mail several hours earlier. But, this morning, WLM looked to be back to the WLM that I now and love. I have no idea what was going on there.]
Hope you can help me understand what is going on. Thanks. ron in round rock

I dragged a directory with perhaps 2000 emails in about 400 subfolders from one email account to another in Windows Live Mail. How long does it take to synchronize? Both email accounts will not refresh properly. It's been about 2 weeks now. In hindsight this wasn't the brightest idea.
Hi,
I have not changed any settings in Windows Mail nor installed any new software and it has been working fine for the last 2-3 years. However, since yesterday I suddenly can't seem to send emails using my default Talk Talk (previously Tiscali) email address as
the emails seem to remain stuck in the Outbox. There is no similar problem when sending emails from my secondary Gmail account using Windows Live Mail.
I get the following error message:
An unknown error has occurred.
Subject 'Test Email'
Server Error: 554
Server Response: 554 cm11gb1 smtp.talktalk.net ESMTP server not available
Server: 'smtp.tiscali.co.uk'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC6F
Protocol: SMTP Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
I have looked at a couple of other threads and can't seem to find a definitive answer to resolve the problem. I have contacted my ISP and as I was able to send an email to myself via their Webmail service they are adamant that the problem is with Windows Live Mail rather than themselves.
Any suggestions as to what is suddenly causing this problem as I am really keen to sort this out as quickly as possible as I am currently in the process of applying for a new job and need to email a number of documents to my new employer as part of the application process?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/fixes to sort this out.
Andy.

[Original title: Gmail problem in WIndows Live Mail]
Hi,
I have just been forced to upgraded from outlook express to Window Live Mail due to it not being available on Windows 7.
I am finding it hard to read the 'From', Subject, Date... etc of inbox messages as the font looks squashed and small.
How do I change the font to make it look easier to read like the font in Outlook Express for XP was.
Thanks
