On 12/16/15; my email acct. through WLM started asking me for my log on credentials - username & password. I have had this set up for 3 yrs., w/out having this box popping up until the 16th. I enter the info., & it just keeps popping up. If I cancel out I get

"Unable to send or receive messages for the XXX account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Rebooted, etc...I have spent hours looking at all these diff. forums w/out finding an answer or doing what is suggested. I can log onto my email through a browser. I am at a loss!! Any ideas?

I have Windows Live Essential 2012 installed on my desktop and Windows Live Essentials 2011 installed on my Acer Aspire One 11" netbook. I have been reading about the updates to Windows Live Mail that you will need to do in order to continue to use it. I have Outlook.com that I use for email usually and it is really all I need I believe. I used Windows Live Mail sometimes if it had an option that I did not find on the old HOT MAIL. I don't believe I need Windows Live Mail anymore. When the change comes about with OUTLOOK I am thinking of just uninstalling Windows Live Mail. I believe it is part of Windows Live Essentials. Will most people just stop using Windows Live Mail and uninstall it and keep Photo Gallery. It looks like ESSENTIALS will be gone as I believe MESSENGER is now SKYPE? What will happen to PHOTO GALLERY, MOVIE MAKER and LIVE WRITER? Gone?

I am trying to delete duplicate contacts from my list.  I have disabled all google, skype, etc. accounts.  I still have duplicate contacts in my list.  When I try to delete them the delete line is grayed out and won't let me do this.  I have over 4000 addresses in my list and should only have about 1000.  Is there a way to do this?   Can I actually close my windows live account and create a new one and then import contacts???

I am running OS 8.1 with Outlook with Windows Live Mail 2012.

If I download this new version of the Outlet mail that I am asked to do to continue e mail service what can I expect with this new program?

What will I loose?

What will I gain?

What will it do with my live mail 2012 version?

Will I be getting a bunch of advertising along with my mail?

Finally, I am thinking of going to OS 10 later, will I have to make more changes if and when I do change operating systems?

My reason for changing operating systems later is I only want one set of problems at a time.
