When I installed Windows 10, Windows Live Mail continued to work as before in Windows 7 except the dates now confuse me.  They have always been displayed the logical way, Day/Month/Year but now they are displayed Month/Day/Year.  So for instance the First of March 2016 will read 3/1/2016.  In all my other communications that is today's date - the Third of January 2016.

How can I change the way the date is displayed please?

I'm trying this query again. Since reverting back from Windows 10 to 7, I've had nothing but problems. I want to try and do a repair on Live Mail but I cannot find any means of accessing Windows Essential. If I go into Control Panel, delete/repair, there is no sign of Windows essential. It's got to be there somewher!!!

regards

There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service. If the error persists, check to see if there's an upgrade of Windows Live Mail available or contact a service representative. Help !!!!

When I set up a new email account on WLM using IMAP it created 13 files.   One of them is called .ERROR and it has 3 different types of junk files and several others that look to do the same thing.    In the past I just got inbox, sent items, deleted items, junk mail.    Maybe it has to do with IMAP vs. POP.   Not sure.

Thanks

I have just bought a new Windows 10 laptop.  I am using Windows Live Mail and have copied the settings from my old laptop to the new one and am able to receive emails.  However, I cannot send any.  They are returned with the message: 'We weren't able to send this message, so we've put it in your Drafts folder. Before you try sending it again, you can check to see if the address is correct and that no attachments are too large.'

I have tried sending two emails and they both came back with that message. Both addresses are correct and neither email has an attachment.

When I go to the account settings for the POP3 account, I cannot find the place to check what the settings are for the port numbers.

The other thing I can't find is a 'check all mail now' button.

Got this email: Dear user,  In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use. In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published http://communication.microsoft.com/Key-6859401.C.rTvf.N.K4.-.nFYqRtX. If you use Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, we recommend that you switch to the built in Mail app in Windows to stay connected and get the latest feature updates on http://communication.microsoft.com/Key-6859401.C.rTvf.P.K4.-.nFNfN8V, and http://communication.microsoft.com/Key-6859401.C.rTvf.Q.K4.-.nFJHLvT.

I am running Windows 10 with Windows Live Mail 2011. WLM is currently working but the message makes me believe it will stop soon.

This is the file from the email that I tried to install:
d-mail.msp (1) from Microsoft. I got it from the link in the email.

Got this message: The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be updated may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.

It seems that I must have skipped a patch, but how do I find the patch that it needs prior to loading the current one?

Thank you!!

My Windows Live is suddenly not allowing me to compose and send messages.  I checked the forum and found a suggestion to be sure Net 3.5 was active.  When I checked it, it shows only part of Net 3.5 working, but I don't know why--or even if this is my problem.  Can I uninstall and reinstall Windows Live without losing my settings?  Is it possible that a recent Win 10 update may have corrupted Live?
