I have run Windows Live Mail on my desktop PC for some time and I have built up quite a large file of deleted emails that I wish to retain. I installed WLM on my laptop so I could use it when I was away from home. However when I start the program on my laptop it downloads all those deleted emails. I tried to remove them as they arrived but there were too many of them, so I shut WLM down.

Is there some way to prevent those old emails being downloaded?

This issue just began 2/1/2016. I believe I did install the update fix last December. Anyway the only way I can keep it from crashing is to stop the initial email download/calendar update. However it will still crash if I try to access the calendar since it automatically tries to update the calendar.

Unless there is a relatively simple/painless fix I'm going to look for a third party email client.

Having updated to Windows 10 and noting the new Windows Outlook Mail does not have a folder feature yet or a facility to transfer folders from Windows Live Mail ,I wish to install the latest Windows Live Mail 2012.

Currently I am running WLM 2009 because I like the ribbon, but having experienced  numerous issues with the Windows 10 install I would like to upgrade to the latest version of WLM 2012 which I believe is compatible with 10.

However I have numerous historic folders on subjects I wish to keep and worried that if I upgrade to WLM 2012 they will be lost.

I would also like clarification on what relationship WLM , Windows Outlook Mail,  Windows Outlook.com, Office Outlook, have in common.  Also what account settings should be applied to WLM 2012 eg Pop, HTTP, IMAP.

When I add a Hotmail e mail address to WLM2009 it automatically sets the server to http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx

My latest problem with WLM2009 has been the frequent refusal to send/receive e mails and when I reconfigured the account in an attempt to correct the issue(same server details) I now cannot store "sent" or "deleted" messages.  It is configured to save "sent" messages.

Help please Microsoft

the MS Assure Plan has done more harm than good, in trying to fix PC issues

they have lost a lot of my files and caused other problems.  would like to know of a good fixer-upper (trustworthy) that can get my PC back to something close to normal.

but for now, would settle on how to delete face book contacts from windows live

email.  am using Win 10.    thanks.

I use Time Warner Cable for internet, but I use Windows Live Mail for email.  This problem has occurred several times.  I click on Windows Live Mail icon & get into Windows Live Mail.   I immediately receive a Time Warner Cable popup asking for user name & password.   When I put password in, it is not accepted.  It is the correct password because I can go online & get in to twc email using that information.  I want to use Windows Live Mail, but can't get the problem resolved.  Can someone help?
how do I hide (or delete) that dratted calendar on the live mail page?  There's hardly any room for the email message, and I don't use the calendar.

I cannot find any answers about how to set up Windows 10 subfolders in Windows 10 Live itself, except that one answer that says a Microsoft technician said you cannot. Help! If you can't do this, when will we see a fix?
