My email *** Email address is removed for privacy *** worked fine in windows 8 mail & is still working online, on mobile & through other mail programs. But when I upgraded to windows 8.1 the mail app will not recognise/accept my email account. The new 8.1 mail app works fine with my other
emails, just not with the outlook.com account I had in windows 8.
Have done all the troubleshooters, pc scans, re-installing, rebooting etc etc. I don't want to have to start all over again by creating a new outlook.com account.
So does anyone know a way of configuring my existing email *** Email address is removed for privacy *** to work with the new windows 8.1 mail app?

I am still receiving Birthday Calendar notifications from a Microsoft account that I had closed in the past 6 months. Because the account was closed, there is no way to be able to log back into the account to check and/or change the Birthday Calendar
settings. Therefore, I decided to re-create the Microsoft account by using the same credentials including the same email address that I used with the original account. I thought that I would somehow then be able to regain access to the original Birthday
Calendar. However, this did not work and all I succeeded in doing was creating a new and different Microsoft account, even though it uses the same email address as the closed Microsoft account. I would like the original Birthday Calendar closed/removed permanently
and the notifications stopped please. I will await a Microsoft Support Representative's response via private message, then I will respond with the necessary information. Thank you.

For all text below. first = my first name, last = my last name. For privacy, I didn't use my names.
I was able to sign up my third-level .name domain (example: first.last.name) at domains.live.com. I edited my DNS records to add the MX and TXT records just fine. Then I created an account which ended up being *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I sent a few emails in both directions
to test it out, they were all received fine. Then I went into the account and added an alias *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (as Verisign forwards *** Email address is removed for privacy *** to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***). The alias was verified and I can sign in with it at outlook.com and on an iPhone.
However, I cannot send emails from the alias *** Email address is removed for privacy *** as outlook.com will not allow me to make it the primary alias (it is verified, but says it can't make "@last.name" the primary), and it will also not allow me to send emails on my iPhone from *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
- it stops the outgoing message with an error.
How can I fix this? I wouldn't mind switching from my current provider, Fastmail. However, I need outlook.com to correctly support a third-level .name domain; and all third-level .name domains come with email forwarding such that *** Email address is removed for privacy *** is a valid address
for the domain first.last.name.
I'll repeat. *** Email address is removed for privacy *** is a valid address for first.last.name. I've been sending and receiving emails using Fastmail on *** Email address is removed for privacy *** since 2004, and as Outlook/Live/Hotmail.com now supports both ActiveSync and IMAP I would love to switch.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you

My emails are being deleted somehow. I get this on my email "Some other program is set to download and delete your messages from Outlook. Just in case this was an accident, we've put them in a special POP folder."
How do I find out what is deleting my emails?

Hi. My family members run Windows 7 Home edition on a laptop and I have updated family safety because I wasn't getting any reports of Facebook usage. Version 2011 (Build 16.4.3508.0205). I have refreshed the filter and it tells me I have the latest
settings. I have turned the filter on and off and restarted the laptop a number of times. I have turned on the "warn on adult content". I am still not getting any reports on Facebook usage despite that everything else is being reported accurately. Please
help!!
