First, let me say I've read all the previous posts and tried EVERYTHING I can't think of to fix this problem, all to no avail.
"Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account. Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to Windows Live ID at this time. Please try again later.
Server Error: 0x80048820
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048820"
I have 2 laptops running XP SP3 and 1 desktop running Vista. All three use WLM as the email client. All three have the same Hotmail and Comcast email addresses on them. BUT, only 1 of the laptops has this problem.
Started VERY suddenly about 3 weeks ago. Did a normal sync one morning, and then started getting the above error with all of the Hotmail accounts on that 1 laptop. The Comcast account syncs very oddly, but it syncs. The other computers are fine. I also have a mobile device with the same email addresses, and it works fine.
My big problem is that I can't really effectively try any of the suggestions to fix the issue because I can't even sign-in to the Hotmail accounts. I CAN sign-in online, like if I go to live.com and put in my log-in. But for some reason, doing it through a 3rd party sign-in doesn't work. I even tried using Thunderbird to fix the problem, but again, it couldn't verify the account when I tried to register the username and password.
Firewall is not the issue. I even tried to change the server to DeltaSync_v1.0, but it wouldn't take, (probably because I wasn't signed in - I just didn't realize it).
I uninstalled WLM, then reinstalled it, but still doesn't work.
Very frustrating. Any help? Thanks.
David
