I know there have been a lot of posts about this but after 2 days of searching through all of these posts none of the solutions have worked for me. I am running Outlook 2011 version 14.3.9 on os x 10.9.1. So far I have forced re-index of the entire drive, added and removed the MUD folder from the spotlight exclusion list, unchecked then re-checked Mail and Messages from spotlight preferences, re-installed Office, rebuilt the identity, created a new identity, created a new user and imported the .olm from my current user, added a whole new account with the new user, verified permissions both through disk repair and chown/chmod, removed the com.microsoft.outlook.syncservicespreferences.plist, nothing that I have found has worked. I had my MUD folder set to users/username/library/ since I back up my documents folder to dropbox and did not want gigs of outlook stuff eating up dropbox space, but after re-install it set the MUD folder back to it's native location in documents and the search still does not work. I can search using the same exchange account using Outlook 2013 on win7 and on ios just fine. Given that the search didn't work with a newly created use, I am leaning towards it being some kind of os x problem but I am posting in both places to hopefully increase my chances of getting a working solution. I've worked with os x and PureDarwin for a while now (almost embarrassing that I can't figure this out >_<) so please don't shy away from technical answers.
