For the past few days, I have tried to log into my hotmail account.  At first it said I was using the wrong password, impossible as I am entering of my hotmail info folder.  Anyway, I then clicked on forgot password, what harm could there be right?  I am then taken to a questionnaire that requests that I provide more personal information than I am prepared to.  I do not want to share past passwords, date of birth, anything which can be used to do me harm.  There surely has to be a safer/more secure way.  It asks to allow me receive a code via text, but I have no clue, idea what telephone number I had when I opened this account... cannot change it to my current one as I cannot log in.  and now after trying to reset my password, made this alias account (as I would not want to lose my original acct) still nothing.

Error message now reads "You've tried to sign in too many time with an incorrect email address or password".

What to do? I've real every single one of your support pages, links and none apply.

I just want to reset the password, continue using my hotmail account, not a fan of the change over to outlook but that is your choice.  I just want access to an account I've had over 15 years.

Any and all information will be appreciated.
