Clean install of windows 8, and family safety USED TO WORK fine for my son's account. His account got corrupted somehow (desktop and apps no longer showed up, etc.)- which we think was from power outage during a Windows update. We followed some online directions to fix this- create new account, copy user stuff from one to other and delete old account. New account had to be 'Administrator' for this to work and everything worked fine and he was up and running without losing anything. So I now that I downgraded him from 'Administrator' to Standard user account so I can set Family Safety back up, but now I can't add his account to Family Safety. I get an error that says "Sorry we couldn't make changes to Family Safety".
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get this back to working again? I know how to do all the standard PC stuff and account setup and have gotten this all to work before for my other kids on multiple machines, but now the first standard step just isn't working. I have followed everything I have found online to test or tweak and have gotten nowhere. I really don't want to do a refresh or delete his account and start all over again since it is too much stuff to reinstall, etc.
Any chance this is fixed in 8.1 and I should just wait for that?...
Thanks for any help.
Craig
