Cant access my old live account

Hi there. I am desperate to access my old live.vu.edu.au account as it has emails that have great semimetal meaning! 
I stopped going to Vic Uni back in 09 but have been using it ever since. I used to have the emails come through my gmail and through my mail on my iPhone but since the update happened it has ceased. 
When I try to log into the outlook it comes up with this message. Someone help me!!!! Thank you in advance. (BTW I do now my current password as I changed it today. So not a password issue at all)

    Make sure you typed the user ID assigned to you by your organization. It usually looks like *** Email address is removed for privacy *** or *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. And check to make sure you typed the correct password.
