OK - so I have an issue with Windows Live Movie Maker files that were created on my old PC (Windows 7 - I believe with Movie Maker 2012).

I have a new 64bit PC with Windows 8.1 - and I installed (and re-installed) Windows Essentials 2012 to get Movie Maker 2012.

I can create NEW projects - but whenever I try to open a WLMP project file that I had created on my old computer - I get a generic message box that says "Movie Maker has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a problem is available."  <Close program> button.

No details on the error.  No error number.  Nothing.   If there was another program that I could use to import/convert my old Movie Maker projects - but I cannot find such a product.   If I could open these projects for no other purpose than to save the movies out for some other program - I would do that too.   But I can't do any of the above - Movie Maker crashes.  EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
