i am currently using Windows Live Essentials 2012 desktop app.

i have 3 hotmail accounts and am able to log on & send and receive mail for 2 of the 3 accounts.

i, however, cannot log onto my 3rd (default) hotmail account.

logging in to my default account thru firefox is fine.   I just CANNOT log on via the desktop app.

my login id & password are definitely correct (again, they work via firefox).

when 'sending / receiving' mail for all 3 accounts, the 2 accounts say ‘completed’, but the default account says 'cancelled'.

error message: "Windows Live Mail Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details. 1 of 2 tasks have completed successfully"

The problem began when i hit 'stop', while 'sending/receiving' messages.

now, what happens is...when trying to log on with my password (which is correct) i get:  "The email address or password is incorrect".  Please try again.

why is the account not accepting a correct password?

I’ve tried changing the password in Firefox (and again, have no problem logging on in firefox), but the password is not accepted  when using the desktop app.

Fixes I tried that did not work
:

- I ran the "Wlarp" fix, but still not working.

- I removed then re-added the non-working email account.

when setting up the accounts, i chose the ‘automatic’ settings which used the server url of https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx  (not pop3 or imap).

- i originally had Windows Live Essentials 2011 and uninstalled, so i could install 2012 version.

Fixes I tried that worked, but no longer work
.  (This worked until i closed the desktop app and reopened it later in the day:

- I ran crapcleaner as well as scanned registry for issues thru crapcleaner.

any ideas would be appreciated.

thanks!

TIA
