I've researched this and have tried everything with the exception of reformatting my hard drive and starting all over again. This problem occurred after I had done a windows 10 upgrade. I didn't like windows 10 because it was sooooooooooo slow and had soooooooo many permission errors. I went back to windows 7. Running a Lenovo P580 laptop, never a problem before with windows essentials until this windows 10 debacle.

I cannot install windows essentials. Really all I want is movie maker, but that's not possible.

• Installation error 0x80070643 or 0x800706d9: You need to turn on Windows Firewall

• and 0x80040609

I've tried everything and have given up. 

Just want you to know that windows 10 started this problem and I'm sure it'll be popping up in other posts.
