Cannot create new files

So I'm having trouble with my Skydrive, to summarize

I use Skydrive to sync between my desktop and laptop (both running on Windows 8 which is linked to my MS account)
Last night my desktop stopped uploading files, just sits looking for changes.
I created a new file in Skydrive on my laptop, it tries to upload but never gets anywhere.
Office documents on both get "upload failed" message, One such message was "We're sorry this didn't work [...] try saving again later [...]
Went onto Skydrive web interface, can't create files there either. Get an error message telling me it could not create the file, and to check my internet connection.
Can create folders on both PCs and web interface.
