Subject: [QUAR] please take my email out of your system
Dear Michael Sharkey:
Thank you for writing. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concern regarding emails you have recently received.
This email is in no way associated with Experian® and we recommend that you do not open this email or any attachments but delete it immediately. Please note that Experian will never include an attachment in emails to our members, and will not send email
score or report change alerts to non-members.
While it is difficult to determine the origin, the emails you have received may be part of a “phishing” scam.
What is a phishing/fraudulent email?
Put simply, “phishing” is an attempt through trickery to gain access to sensitive information for criminal activity — this usually arrives in the form of a fraudulent email, with a link to click on, claiming to be from a respectable company or making an
offer that’s too good to refuse. The information they’re looking for might be your date of birth, bank account or credit card number, or even your Facebook or work password. They can also try and get you to install software to gain access to data on your PC.
Opening a seemingly genuine link or file could allow hackers to attempt to access our computer’s systems.
