I have recently bought this laptop (HP pavilion windows 8.1). My problem is that when i add my videos to Movie Maker 2012 the audio is playing however the picture is plain black! Please do not recommend Microsoft FixIt as i have tried and it says that on my system i am not able too use fixit! i have used Mediainfo in order to try and find missing codecs but there was no luck! i don't know whether this is because i am doing it wrong?

The reason i am so confused is because my friend and i happen to have the EXACT same laptop and phones therefore our video files must be the same however hers works perfectly and i cannot ever get mine to work!

Also the videos are WMV. and so i thought they would work!

I tried MOV. files most of them stop the program from responding but only one video will play from my phone on MM with video AND audio! 

I'm very confused and have tried every solution i can find! i have to make a 'movie' by a certain time and im running out of solutions!

All ideas would be greatly appreciated if you could get back to me ASAP!
