Hi everyone,
I really like Windows Live Mail (WLM) but miss the autocorrect function. There was talk in 2013 that MS would add both autocorrect and grammar correction (capitalization of first letters in sentences) to WLM, but it hasn't happened yet. I created a list of words in a registry update file and named it wlmacl.reg. It works well, except for the following issue.
I added the word wedn to the library. It corrects to Wednesday. The problem arises when I use it in the following manner:
Type - Today is wedn<space>.
Displayed - Today is Wednesday .
After backspacing - Today is Wednesdaywedn.
When I backspace to add the period, the corrected and short form word appear as a pair. I can correct the problem by typing wedne. but every time I backspace to a corrected word in the wlmacl.reg file, I get the corrected word and short form word blended together, which renders the whole idea useless.
I tried PhraseExpress, but it was riddled with bugs such as changing a middle letter in a word to uppercase, despite their add-on that supposedly prevents it. I set it up to ONLY work with WLM, but it kept interfering with my Word 2010 and other programs. I wish there was a way to integrate the Word autocorrect and grammar correction into WLM. There is no one on the planet who has ever got this right except MS.
Any ideas on how to integrate the Word autocorrect and grammar functions into WLM is greatly appreciated. Even if you know of some other way to build an autocorrect library without the backspace issue would be great. I can
live with capitalizing the first word in sentences
. Thanks!
