I purchased a new computer a few weeks ago that came with Windows 8 and over the weekend I then installed the update to Windows 8.1.  On this computer I installed Office 2013 and use the outlook 2013 program to send and receive all my emails.  Until my update to Windows 8.1 I had no issues sending photos from the My Pictures photo gallery via email.

Using the same process from Windows 8, I select a photo in the My Pictures photo gallery and 'Share' - 'Email' and the 'Attach photo' box appears to select file size.  In Windows 8, after I select the file size, a new email opens with Outlook 2013 with the photos attached at the reduced size and I can type and send my email.

Now, with Windows 8.1, once I select the file size, a green bar starts to appear as if loading the photos, but then disappears and no email opens, it goes back to My Pictures.  Due to the size of my photos I have to be able to reduce their size before I can email as when I just 'attach' them to an email they are 6MB attachment size.

Outlook is my default email program.

Can you please advise what is happening with my photos and why I can no longer attach photos from the photo gallery to my emails using outlook 2013?

Thanks
