I have four machines running Windows 8.1 and SkyDrive, two desktops, a Surface Pro and a Surface Pro 2. SkyDrive is working on three of the computers, but refuses to sync on my Surface Pro. Files placed into the Skydrive folder on that PC do not sync
to the cloud, and files added to the Metro SkyDrive app don't sync. Files placed in SkyDrive on my other PCs sync just fine between those three, but not to the fourth (the Surface Pro). All PCs are signed in using the same Microsoft account and share settings.
When I start the Metro SkyDrive app, the dots flow across the top of the screen but nothing happens even if I leave the computer on for days.
Some more info:
1. My internet connection is fine
2. I ran the SkyDrive troubleshooter. It restarted SkyDrive, to no effect.
3. I used the Group Policy editor to stop SkyDrive, reboot, then start it again, to no effect
4. When I run the Task Manager I cannot see the SkyDrive Sync process running, and cannot see any way to start it
5. I have rebooted the system many times to no effect
6. I have tried editing and file and creating new files in the local SkyDrive folder hoping to "kick start" the sync process, to no effect
It seems that the SkyDrive sync process is not running, and I can't get it to start with the Troubleshooter. I can't find any event errors in the event log to account for it.
I would like to put my 220GB of SkyDrive storage to use, especially as cloud storage for my Surface -- but can't do so.
Help would be appreciated.
