I am trying to help a friend.  He has a Hotmail account.  When logging onto Hotmail, a code is required to continue.  The email account that comes up is no longer active so he can not get the code.  He talked to Verizon ( the alternate email account) to see if the original email could be re-activated.  Of course they said NO. 

Is there a way to change the hot mail default email address or ids there a way to download the contact list in Hotmail so it can be transferred to Verizon?
