I am using Windows Live Mail 2012 and normally my list of e-mails are shown in the top pane and the actual text of the message is shown in the bottom pane however an hour ago every e-mail I select has nothing shown in the bottom pane but shows two attachments, one of which starts AT followed by a number and then a dot txt extension and the other one also starts AT and again followed by a number and a dot htm extension. Some of these were e-mails I had already read and they were displayed normally when I read them but again now the text that would normally be displayed in the bottom pane is included in an attachment.
Would appreciate some suggestions as to how to get my e-mails back as they should be. I have shut it down and restarted it but no change.
Thank you
I just realized I made a change that may have something to do with this. I was trying to update a program I have and kept getting a message about the temp folder with an error 5 access denied. I did a search on Microsoft and found instructions that said to go to c:usersusernameappdatalocal and then right click on the temp folder and select properties, then the security tab, highlight everyone and then edit and select full control. I did that and when I selected apply I got a message but didn't pay much attention to it and selected continue. The message listed a long string of letters and numbers and just kept selecting continue until I got through it. I installed the upgrade which now worked and then went back in to undo what I just did and again got a similar message which again listed a long string of letters and numbers and again just selected continue.
It was after that that I had the problem with my e-mail. It may be coincidental but I doubt it.
I went back into c:usersusernameappdatalocal and right clicked on temp again however this time there was no everyone listed, just administrator so am not sure how to get back to where I was before making the above changes to see if that corrects the problem.
Thank you
