Accidentally closed my Microsoft account, won’t let me create a new one

Sorry to bother you with this but I accidentally closed my Games for Windows live account with the username: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

When I try to create a new account with the same name, it says that the name is taken.
Would it be possible to reopen it?
