I have multiple Microsoft IDs which are linked to different services. Because of this, I need to use a local account on PCs and then must connect to various services using the appropriate Microsoft ID. This works fine with some apps (Mail/Calendar/People)
but not so well with SkyDrive. I do not want to switch my local account to a specific Microsoft account.
As I look at the banner on this page, proclaiming "By using this site you agree to the use of cookies for analytics, personalized content and ads.", it seems to me that this is part of the same issue and that Microsoft is doing the same thing that Google is
with its efforts to have us constantly connected to our Google accounts. I would be most perturbed to think that Microsoft would run a campaign such as "Scroogled" while participating in the same behavior (I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!)
If these companies wish to turn us from clients into product, then they owe a lot more than they are currently providing. Heck, I would pay a subscription for them to keep my information private. They would gain earnings visibility and make more money. Any
takers? Are you listening Microsoft?
