Yes, this problem looks familiar but I've looked at that one and nothing has changed.

My laptop was left to sit for 2 months while I worked for a new cable to get it up and running again. Once I got it going, the computer worked great again but when I made my first movie and saved it for high definition display (for my youtube channel) I tried to play it in Media Player but it brings up the message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

I used to make videos all the time and they always worked fine, then my computer had to sit for 2 months so maybe something is out of date or whatever but, it used to work before and now it won't and I'm not sure why.

It's saved in wmv file format, it's only 19 seconds long, its got no sound, I saved it for high definition display and I'm not sure what the problem is. Could a codec be out of date after it's been sitting for 2 months, is my movie maker out of date, is windows media player out of date? Should I update them all?

Hope for an answer soon, thanks in advance.
