I have Win10, WLMail 2012 (But these errors happened ALSO on Win7 with WLMail 2012)
TWO “ERRORS” HAPPENING TOO FREQUENTLY!!!
(1) “An unknown error has occurred.”
My messages don’t get sent out, they are caught in the Outbox for days or weeks. I always check with my servers but my email account with them on their web works perfectly, so it has to be WLMail doing. Here’s the error msg:
“An unknown error has occurred.

(2) “A problem occurred while trying to open these messages. Try again”
On my “Junk” mail on any of my 4 accounts, I have messages SINCE FEBRUARY 2015!!! That I can’t open or delete or whatever! However, I don’t’ want to delete them as they all are valuable messages!!!
IT’S TIME for MS to fix these problems and MOST IMPORTANTLY to see to it that they don’t happen again!
I reached to this website several times before and no answer.... :(
