I have 3 pcs that have been upgraded to Windows 10.  I am having difficulty importing photos from my cell phone.  In looking at the Microsoft Support site, it appears that many people are having the same problem.  All of my pcs recognize the device I am trying to import from.  I have tried both Windows 10 Photos and Windows Live Photo Gallery with no success.  I get 2 error messages.  "We couldn't find anything to import from that device" or "No photos or videos were found on this device".  I chatted for 3 hours with a Microsoft agent.  She convinced me to invest in a $149.00 Microsoft Answer Desk Assure subscription.  After I agreed, she took control of my pc and reinstalled drivers.  During the process she had to restart my pc and the chat connection was broken.  She called me and reestablished the link.  After performing more work, she had to restart the pc a second time.  The chat link was again broken and I never heard back from the agent.  I called the answer desk this morning and established another chat.  This agent informed me that Windows Essentials was no longer supported and that I should look to the community for support.  That is what I'm doing now.  I'm sure that this problem is not unusual and all I need is a list of steps that need to be taken to get Windows 10 to work with Windows Essentials.  Is there anyone out there that can help me with this issue?  Thanks.

I have a customer using Live Mail.  When he clears or deletes all the emails in his Junk folder all of those emails start populating his inbox.  Not seen this before and haven't seen any articles or answers.  Help appreciated.  I watched him delete all emails form Junk and that just started showing up in Inbox.  In this case there were several thousand.

thanks,

eric

I purchased a surface pro 3 in March 2014.  The AC power cords of the Surface Pro 3 which has a "potential to cause fire and electric shock" was recalled sometimes around January 2016.  I just found out about this recall in an article on PC world after trying to trouble shoot some power supply issues that I recently experienced on my Surface Pro.  The recall notice specifies that I should have stopped using my surface pro immediately until the new part arrives, that was almost two years ago. My Surface Pro is registered with Microsoft and has been since the day of purchase.   Why is Microsoft not using the registry to notify its customer in a timely fashion of recalls, especially when they are as serious as this one.    Does Microsoft assumes responsibility if the lifespan of my Surface Pro is shortened as a result of  not having use the replacement part in a timely fashion?  These tablets are made for travel and they accompany travellers in fairly isolated areas where the failure of the power supplies on a device would be more than just a small inconvenience.  Microsoft is collecting a ton of information on its customers and I would like to know if they ever use that information for any purpose other than marketing.... I post this matter under "windows essential" as I am of the opinion that once a device has been registered with Microsoft, it should be "essential" for Microsoft to use the information in the registry to inform customers of product recalls in a timely fashion.

Suddenly unable to access Live Mail.

While trying to load I get the following message:

Windows Live Mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory (0x80041161)

May be a coincidence, but happened after working with Windows Live Movie Maker which I have rarely used.  Also did some auto updates.recently

I recently had to replace my hard drive and am now having trouble sending mail. When I click on the "to" button, it no longer opens my contact list as before. Any thoughts?

Is there a way of extracting the Contacts/Address Book from an installation of Windows Live Mail inside a Windows.old folder - following a Windows (7) reset ?

i.e. a "Contacts.edb" reader/converter?

Every time I open my project in moviemaker the added audio files and the captions shift slightly so they are out of time.

Can anyone advise a fix?

I move them back every time and its getting extremely frustrating as its getting quite a long project.

Recently all photos I import from computer to Movie Maker have Samsung Digimax 420 imprinted on them. These photos were taken with a Panasonic camera and have no marking. I have never owned a Samsung camera. Photo Gallery shows no such markings, only Movie Maker?
