Question about Outlook Express

Repeatedly Update fails with Error Code : 0X80072ee7. What can I do ? Is there any provision in Windows 10 Pro to disable update .  While PC is ON , unnecessarily  Update is ON automatically. Unsuccessful update wastes vast quantity of downloaded DATA  daily . I would like to do ON Update as when required.  I could nor get easy and clear solution for failure of  Update .

Since this week I am unable to delete the Junk Email folder, unknown error box appears.

Window's Live Mail is stuck trying to execute  updates for calendar events, now I can not open to get emails or close.

Moved from: Outlook.com/Email/Sending, receiving, and reading email

Today I can not send emails which was working fine yesterday.

Settings for my POP3 account:

incoming pop.verizon.net  SSL Port 995

outgoing smtp.verizon.net SSL Port 465

logon is set using clear text authentication

error message on send:
