Split from this thread.

I cannot help technically with your problem but can confirm that you are not the only one having problems with microsoft emails.

In my wifes case, access to windows was denied consequently no email. After spending all day going around and around in circles trying to verify her account, I eventually gave up and created another account for her, together with a matching email address: this went O.K. until you try to access the email program. Access denied, because of problems with that account and or password. duh!

additionally I have learn t that SOME emails sent to  my account are being bounced back to the sender!

By accident I bumped into a friend this morning and his wife lost her account, plus some other strange events.

What is going on? One answer is to transfer to another email program, say, "gmail". Even more dramatically abandon "windows" altogether and use a "linux" based operating system. In the past I used "ubuntu" which worked fine.

I have an email that failed to send in Windows Live Mail and it's causing problems in sending mail.

I keep getting the message to delete the email, but I can't find it to delete. It's not in the Sent folder, nor the Drafts, it's not in the Inbox - I don't have an 'Outbox' . I've looked everywhere for it and can't find it - but if I don't delete it I'll continue to have problems.

Delete the photo email, create a new one, and try to send it again.

Server: 'mail.bigpond.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8CCC0003
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

Can anyone help me please?? I wasn't even sure which Category to choose as Windows Live Mail wasn't given as an option - if I posted in the wrong one can you please direct me to the right category please.

Thank you in advance

I am using windows live mail for accessing mail on my laptop.  The earlier configuration was POP which was later changed to IMAP as per MS directive.

Since last week Win Live Mail is not able to download mails from the server and I keep getting error saying that the server has unexpected terminated the connection or it will say "not connected to IMAP server" or Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.

Kindly assist

I am unable to get my Windows Phot Gallery to sync to my Windows Live account. When I choose to set up gallery sync I get an error code 0x80040a15. Does anyone know how I can fix this and sync my photos?

apologies if this has been answered already but how does photo gallery decide which images are new when importing from your phone/camera? If I manually delete some photos off my pc using windows explorer then when I import from my phone will it import those files again because they are not on the pc any more or will it ignore them because they were imported previously?

thanks

Had been using Windows live mail 2011 on a dell win 7 laptop for years with no problems, something happened and I ended up having to switch it from POP to IMAP.  Since then it has been buggy and not connecting very well to the server at all. (this was one of many bugs on that pc (hard drive also making noise so a good time to replace it anyway).  Bought a clean win 7 laptop with a fresh installation of Win 7 64 bit and opened windows live mail to configure it to my Microsoft "live" mail (@Hotmail) account.  Still many of the same issues as the other laptop, connects to server intermittently, almost seems like a bandwith issue as I left it one evening and it seemed to have run all night and downloaded the majority of my account (thousands of emails).  usually during the day I cant get even get it to update my inbox or send an email without delay or error message.  I have restarted laptop sometimes it updates mail othertimes it just stalls and errors out.

getting 0X800CCC0E error code sometimes, otherwise getting "your IMAP server has not responded in 120 seconds. would you like to wait" type of error.

Wondering if I can use POP settings and if there would be any benefit?  What do I do to use live email account with live mail this way?

Otherwise are there IMAP settings that would work better than what I have right now?

currently

imap-mail.outlook.com

smtp-mail.outlook.com

log on using clear text authentication

outgoing port 587

incoming 993

both have "requires a secure connection ssl" checked

Live mail program itself works great on this pc.  Would really love to fix connection problems.
