I use Windows Live Mail, and I have email hosting with Fasthosts.
I want to upgrade a 'Mail Lite' mailbox to a 'Mail Extra' mailbox... just to have a 2gb mailbox instead of the basic 100mb mailbox.
I don't want to lose any previous emails or contacts I have already have in Windows Live Mail.
So, before I upgrade the mailbox type, I want to ensure that all existing emails are backed up.
If I move all mail from Inbox and Sent Items to Windows Live Mail 'Storage Folders', are they then safely backed up?
Or do I need to 'export' all old email that I want to retain for future reference and import again when the upgrade is completed?
I use one @HOTMAIL.COM Email in my Phone for Contacts/ Emails and same i use in Windows Live mail for Emails.
Now the problem is that i have had deleted some contacts years ago (back in 2014/2015) which is not present in Mobile nor in Online at https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/people but all those contacts appears in Windows Live Mail.
I have re-checked all contacts in Mobile and also online in my contact directory but none of them are there but they continue to be in Windows Live Mail.
Remember that during this span of period i have changed several laptops but whenever i install Windows Live Mail and sign in with my @HOTMAIL.COM ID so all those contacts re-appear.
Can you please guide me what could be the posibble source of these contacts despite laptops are changed and they're not showing in Online portal.

Five days ago I found that I could not open any emails in my Livemail storage folders, although the email titles can still be seen, 'Message not found' returned when trying to open any of them. I have tried, 'Repair all windows programs' via the 'Windows Live Essentials 2011' program on the control panel programs page and this downloads the fixes up to 100% and then fails returning a, 'No internet connection' box once 100% reached. Please advise how I can fix the 'Message not found' or the 'No Internet ' problems above.

suddenly I can't send emails from my Windows Live, I am receiving emails from the server. The message is as below;
An unknown error has occurred.
Server: 'smtp.virginmedia.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8007007A
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure(SSL): Yes
Don't know what this means but causing me untold problems.

I was creating a new hotmail.co.uk account. After several attempts at various email names, it finally accepted one.
It had accepted the new account name and I had typed a password into the box.
However, my iPad battery failed just before I was able to finish the online setup process.
I have tried verifying my account but Microsoft doesnot recognise my requests since I have not started using the account so there is no account history etc.
I want the name as it is very specific.
Can you help?
