I have Windows 7. I have been trying to add an email account to Windows Live Mail. When I do I can receive emails but can't send. I get the following Error message:

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'Hello again'
Server: 'smtp.1and1.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10060

I tried repairing Windows Live Essentials through the control panel but it did not work so I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials and downloaded Windows Live Essentials 2012. It still gives me the same error message.

Any suggestions???

Original Title:  Organization

Originally on my Windows 10 Photo Gallery I had pictures automatically organized by date taken (or, if I wished, I could rename the specific folder).  Those folders were all shown in a list down the left side of the screen.  Now that list is gone.  How can I get it back?

I installed Windows Live Essentials in an effort to get Movie Maker.  I got other stuff, like Windows Live Mail, Messenger, and Family Safety, but not Movie Maker.  I tried to re-install Essentials, but it didn't help.  How can I get Movie Maker?

Win10, Windows Live Mail, gmail:  I may have accidentally clicked or double clicked (cat at my elbow) near the top of the list of email folders on the left of the WLM screen - but essential folders such as Sent, Spam and Trash have disappeared.  There is a long column of similar folder names, many if not all are my own (I think), but all or most are now empty.  I see the folders I want if I click on "Accounts/Imap Folders" but I can't do anything to affect what I am seeing on the WLM screen.

I am a NOVICE! but I need to see and work in my own folders.  Where did they go??  How do I get them back???

I have seen similar questions here but none that have answers that are useful to me.  Many answers are dead ends, referring to files or folders or tabs to click on that either don't exist on my screens or are shaded and unclickable.

Will someone please help me?

I just received my Surface Pro 4 (windows 10) and installed Movie Maker 2012 (Essentials)

Problem: When launched, the app is displayed with very small characters and small buttons.

How to get a normal readable display for Movie Maker on Surface 4 ?

Thanks for help.
