I have inadvertently lost all my saved emails in WIndows Live Mail while attempting to stop new mail coming in. I knew I had saved all that I wanted and was going to keep them in that program even though not actively using it.

I imagine they are there somewhere but I don't know how to find them.

I have been running Windows 7, x64 and the included Windows Live Essentials 2011 (now version 15.4.3555.0388) for my email program for years without any problems. Several days ago, I started getting an error message that my calendar failed to update properly. Since I do not use this Calendar, and the error messages have been bugging me, and I was not able to obtain a reasonable solution in any of the forums (Many "experts" suggested downloading Windows 10.....THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION, dear Microsoft!!), I solved this today.

Open the Windows Live Mail program. Click the upper left menu button, and chose "Options". A menu opens and chose the "Connections" tab. In the section which reads "Windows Live Services", click the "Stop Signing In". This bypasses trying to connect to the Calendar Updates!

This solution is a "work around" to some recent issue that has occurred with the Calendar update service, or some Windows update which has screwed up the service, or some other unknown issue which no one at Microsoft has figured out yet.

You will still be able to get your emails properly, but this turns off the calendar services.

When I split a video and delete the portion I do not want, the remaining portion freezes when I try to resume playing. It does not freeze on the next frame, it freezes with the last frame of that particular video. If I skip forward in review the video will start to play normally but I still can't get the initial frozen frame out of the video...splitting and cutting it out doesn't correct the problem because the next split carries the same problem. Is this a known problem with movie maker? Am I missing an update? Or is the program corrupting my videos?

Just set up BT mail account in Windows live.  Incoming mail works fine but I cannot set up/compose/send a new mail - click the option and it takes me back to the in box.  Have checked all server/port settings per BT web site and still no joy.  Just getting to the mildy irritated stage...any good Samaritans out there with any ideas?

I am using Windows Live Mail with a .org email address (on a company server) that is connected to my Hotmail account that I access through Outlook.  I am considering migrating to the Windows 10 Mail program.  Are there any advantages to the Windows 10 Mail email over Windows Live Mail.  How can I migrate from Windows Live Mail to Windows 10 Mail?

I am having an annoying issue when using Windows 10 Live Mail and People.  I have manually added several contacts.  Names are in the correct field (i.e. if I expand the name field, the First Name and Last Name are properly situated for each contact).  However, the behaviour when adding contacts to email is inconsistent and annoying.

Some of my contacts pull over correctly, i.e. I select contact John Doe, and the name displayed on the email "To" line is John Doe.  Some contacts pull over and display the email address instead of the name.  i.e. I select contact Jane Smith and what ends up on the "To" line is *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (instead of Jane Smith).  Some contacts pull over and display a name that is different than what I store in my contact list, i.e. I select contact Jack Jones and the display name is "THE JONES FAMILY" - which happens to be how that person's outgoing email comes across (but is NOT how I want it to be reflected in my outgoing email).

To be clear, I am NOT selecting recipients from the autofill option, I am actually clicking on the person icon with the "+" sign that appears on the "To" line, which opens People, and I am selecting a person from my entered contacts.  All three examples have a first name and last name properly entered in the list, but each populate the "To" line in a different way.  It looks inconsistent and unprofessional.  Please advise.
