Same problem as everyone else who has made changes to their primary alias.  Can login using my live.com address, but cannot view the Inbox or Contacts.  I can login and view emails from my outlook.com alias, but the live.com emails are not showing up there either (they were before).

This has been going on for almost a month.  Can someone look at my account ASAP?

Dear Microsoft and Microsoft Community users,

Today I have been sorting through my two different accounts on Outlook.com. I eventually deactivated/closed one of them and kept the other in tact. However, later when I signed in to my operating Outlook.com email account, I realised ALL my emails have been deleted - my inbox is absolutely empty except for a email titled "Set up your new inbox" from the Outlook Team.

I am very very frustrated now as Microsoft does not even provide an email address that I can contact directly to seek assistance for my situation. I am a high school graduate who is currently using the aforementioned Outlook.com account to apply for universities and words cannot describe how helpless I feel now because I have so many important emails in the inbox that I did not think twice about backing up because I expected a such a developed email provider such as Microsoft would be reliable and dependent enough.

I am sure there are many other users out there who are experiencing or have experienced a similar situation that I am unfortunately experiencing now and they would also have several treasured and important emails in their inbox and I feel a bit disappointed in Outlook.com for such an error caused.

I beg for anyone to reply providing a remedy to this situation as soon as possible! Your help is gratefully appreciated! Many thanks.

Regards,
Charley

Hi, anyone experience problem in setting up hotmail IMAP mailbox in Mail App Mac Lion.
It keeps saying login failed.

I tried on Mail App and Thunderbird but no luck with it.

Then, I have created 2 new account @outlook.com and @hotmail.com and proven there is nothing wrong with the app or setting.
Can any of you suggest any possible cause of this ?

By the way, my old hotmail account has many folders and email since it is 14 years now.

Hello
Since the last 5 days, I'm unable to access my outlook. It gives me an error of "We're updating your inbox."
I've added an alias for my email last week and removed it shortly after.
Since then, I cannot access my inbox, and it keeps saying updating your inbox.
Help please, I really need to access my emails.
Can anyone help me with this?
In Outlook.com, the Options screen has a "Formatting, font and signature" page that allows you to set the default font for new emails.

I selected one of the fonts to try it out, but then decided I'd rather leave it with the Outlook.com default, which is not to have a specified font at all.

Unfortunately, it appears that there is no way to remove your selection of the default font. Once you have selected a font, you cannot "clear formatting" and go back to composing an email that doesn't have specific <font> tags embedded in the HTML.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

In case this wasn't clear the first time, let me try explaining it another way:

(1) Start with a new Outlook.com account and compose a new email.
(2) While you are composing your email, go to the "Edit HTML" view, and you will see that the HTML code does not contain any <font> tags specifying a particular font. Thus, your email will be displayed in whatever font the reader is using -- you are not forcing a particular font on them. (This is what I want!)
(3) Now, go into the mail settings and change your default font to Franklin Gothic or Verdana or Garamond or whichever one of the 9 options you want.
(4) Go back to the inbox and compose a new email. Go to the "Edit HTML" view and you will see that the email now contains <font> tags specifying your chosen font.

I want to undo this selection entirely and go back to the situation described in step (2), where there is NO specified font.

I am NOT looking to choose a different default font. I want to have NO DEFAULT FONT at all -- no <font> tags embedded in the HTML, i.e. the original situation before you select a default font.

This is a very basic feature and should be added immediately.
Hi

Today I am unable to access my Hotmail mail from a web browser.

I can still send and receive mail from my Hotmail account on my iPhone.

I believe it is an issue with https://blu173.mail.live.com because when I try a DIFFERENT Hotmail account from the SAME browser it works.

(The other account is on https://blu179.mail.live.com which works fine.)

Please help!

Thank you

Tony

More than a year of complaints. Wow. No wonder I get a answer anywhere on the net. I have read posts and optimized my settings, ever read that Microsoft upgraded the upload speed by 3x.

I am trying to upload 5GB for the past 3 days.  I still got 3GB to go. I've got a 4MB download and 1MB Upload adsl line.

Have tried everything here above, and still extremely slow upload.

3 x faster than slow crawling, is crawling. We need uploadspeed equal to today's technology.

Microsoft, here is a Idea, bring out a app where you can actually upload your files via an very old technology like, mmm ftp. Thereafter when everything is uploaded, the skydrive can take over to sync your files. - This Idea will cost you $5 Billion.

Ever since I set up my new account (almost 2 months) I have been getting - We're updating your inbox.  Please wait a few minutes and then try again.
I have tried from different browsers and from different computers on different networks.
