My outlook.com account won't let me add other email accounts. Says it needs to be verified although I keep going through the verification process. Other similar questioners have had their email account examined by microsoft. How do I get my accnt examined for problems? Why is this so difficult? It is easy on Googlemail which I prefer not to use.

 

This has happened on multiple machines with different versions of explorer.

My main email a./c is at hotmail.
I understand Microsoft is moving to a cloud based system known as outlook.com

It is not clear to me what I'm supposed to do. Am I to create a new a/c in outlook.com?
Do I need to inform my contacts to change my email address from hotmail?
Can anyone direct me to a clear page of instructions please.

For the last two days, I have not been receiving any emails (including ones I send myself or that senders confirm have been sent to me, on both my mobile phone and computer) but I am able to send emails and my contacts receive them. This just happened suddenly, I have never had any problems before.

 

I have tried to check my email settings as per instructions from other posts and everything seems to be fine, so why am I not receiving emails? Is there some way to check why they aren't getting through?

I have 3 Windows 8.1 systems and I would like to know how to set or tell which system will control the SkyDrive>sync settings>start screen when enabled.

I guess I am not that smart.  How do I change my signature on my outgoing emails on outlook

When I reply to an email and I type a word that has an apostrophe (e.g. don't) when I get a reply to my email I can see that the "don't" that I originally typed appears as:  don't    So, what is going on and how can I fix this.

Can somebody please help. I have a 200Gb Skydrive account, used for online backup of multiple file types and since upgrading to Win8.1 I cant get it to work (it worked Ok on Win8 desktop app).


All attempts keep directing me towards office365 and/or sharepoint locations. I don't have an office365 account, I simply want to use it for online backup and not necessarily within Office.

Twice now a VS2008 project I've stored and used on skydrive has been corrupted beyond use.  The first time it lost virtually the project files.  I restored it from a backup I had and it has again after some days of use lost a critical file rendering the project unusable.  Just to make clear I did no lose changes but whole files.  I was using my Surface PRO.  I can only assume skydrive is not all that reliable.

I update 4 excel spreadsheets on a weekly basis and once updated, backup (just these 4 documents) onto Skydrive.  Whilst on the PC (Windows 8) everything is fine but when I try to access the files from another device - eg mobile, skydrive still holds the old versions rather than the updated ones.

 

Any advice gratefully received

Hi, I am using a hotmail account (converted to outlook.com account) and have not been able to use the search function for over a year. Every search results in the message that no emails were found with those search parameters, even if I am looking directly at a message in my inbox that I searched for. The advanced search has similar results. I have tried multiple browsers, multiple devices, updating my browsers and plugins, etc but to no avail. Upon searching the forums here I discovered multiple threads regarding this, but the only solution I could find was a "temporary" one to download Outlook and use it on my computer rather than online, a solution that I am not interested in as I don't want it taking up space and really need the functionality of having it accessible from any device. I did see a microsoft rep talk about needing to re-index my account, but there are no instructions regarding how to do that. I am really hoping to get this issue resolved asap, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
