SkyDrive sync issues in Windows 8.1

I was very excited about the integrated SkyDrive folder in Windows 8.1 until I found out it won't upload any files for me. It sees my online files with no problem, and can accurately show what is currently on my SkyDrive. However, I have not been able to upload a single file using the desktop integration in Windows Explorer. It was suggested to right-click the SkyDrive icon and select "Make available offline" which downloaded all my cloud files to my local computer, but did not allow me to upload files even when it finished syncing. I am trying to upload files by dragging them from a folder on my hard drive to any folder in SkyDrive. The file just sits there and does nothing. The availability says "Available offline". I right-clicked one of the files I was trying to upload and clicked "Make available online only", thinking that would force the upload, and I got this error message:



Of course, I did try waiting several hours and trying again, but a 1MB file shouldn't take that long anyways.

No matter which file I try, to which SkyDrive folder, nothing will show up when I log into SkyDrive through the browser.

Windows 8.1 x64

Intel i7 3930k

Biostar TPower x79

32 GB RAM

128 GB SSD


As a side note, I am running Windows 8.1 RT on my Surface RT, and this all works fine using the same Microsoft account. Maybe this is an issue with 8.1 x64?


Please help as I use SkyDrive almost every day!

Hi i recieved an email via my yahoo account, i then forward it to my live account. the problem here is that in the email it shows where this email originated from, but scrolling down it shows the email again this time its in light grey text, it shows the the person that has forward the message to the person who then forward the message to me as forward message attachment example

 Date: Sun, 2 Jun 2013 05:04:51 -0700
 From: *** Email address is removed for privacy *** 
Subject: Fwd: RE: Converted PDF File

I cannot register my domains in Windows Live Admin Center.

I am trying to register the domain johnsonsuites.com and am getting the message saying "This domain name can't be used because it contains a protected word or inappropriate language. Please contact support if you feel this is not the case."

This domain is for personal use and is not connected with a business.  Please let me know if you need more information.

Outlook inbox not showing latest recent emails

After my recent upgrade to Win8.1, my Outlook inbox started having a weird symptom. When I select accounts setting to download emails for a limited period of time eg. "last month", my recent and latest emails will be shown in the Inbox. If however I select download emails for "any time", the most recent email shown in my Inbox will be 9th Oct. I tried to switch between the settings many times, and it keeps repeating the same problem. I restarted windows, same problem. I sent a new test email to my hotmail account. Same problem. The irony is that I even received a new email notification but my Inbox still does not show the new email when I select download emails from "any time" setting.

I used my Win XP PC and everything works fine! Seems like WIn8.1 is messing up Outlook ...

This may also be related to several users saying they have not been receiving emails lately ??

Separately, when I try to access my outlook folders (set up prior to win 8.1 upgrades), it will first show it is empty, then it shows "couldn't sync messages", then after a while it will show "no messages" and then after few more minutes, all the emails in the folder will show up. Though still able to access the mails eventually, it is really a nuisance ....

I downloaded the last version of outlook (e-mail account) and I can not send e-mail. More my PC  is starting to behave bad, does not open totally and appear a window prompting me to remove the software recently downloaded, I don know what to do? will somebody help me? 

Email will not work. I can login yet cannot see recent emails or even send emails.

I can’t login to Outlook.com. Appears to be Terms of Use Violation

I get the following error message when logging into outlook.com

"It looks like the Terms of Use may have been violated. To have our support team look into this, please click the support link below."

I am able to log in to Live and SkyDrive just fine. How can I get my email account reactivated? I have not violated the Terms of Use as far as I know.

How to get control of your account

Changed password for two different accounts which are linked, forgot passwords, and now im locked out of my hotmail accounts. Password recovery failed, security question and verification form. Do I have any way for an administrator to reset the password on my account?

Sharing Skydrive within my family

I use SkyDrive. My wife has her own account.  We want to use SkyDrive to securely store our pictures.  But if I purchase more storage on my account then I can't share my folders with her or it will max out her account.  Also, she won't be able to upload pictures from her camera and phone without logging in as me, which is hard to do, since she has her own account already linked to her devices.

Is there a way to "share" storage?  We need about 100 Gb of storage.  I don't want to have to pay for 200 Gb of storage and get that amount for both of us.  But I DO want the accounts linked as one.  Is there a way to do this somehow?
