Hi!

I'm helping a friend with her computer and MS-account. When installing Windows 8.1 and in some other cases MS-account wants to verify your account by reentering your mail-adress and you should get a 4-digit code back to your mail. Now, my friend only has a Hotmail-adress registerd to her account, no other information. So when asking for verifying an e-mail adress she can only verify to her Hotmail. And the code doesn't show up. I suspect that you can't verify an account to itself so were stuck in a loop here. Does someone have a tips for this scenario?

I'm getting this error message whenever I try to open a Microsoft app.  Does anyone know what the issue is, and how I can correct it?

We have hosted Exchange email and find that Outlook 2011 (for Mac) has numerous synchronization issues including;

1. Multiple copies of a single email/contact all with the same details (date/time stamp) -- have seen 2-6 copies

-Took a 6GB email account to close to 20GB

2. Hundreds of Email read and filed into folders never synchronized with Exchange

-Evidenced in OWA, a Windows computer with Outlook, and a new identity created in Outlook 2011

3. Old meeting requests/remidners intermittently pop-up

4. Recurring pin wheel and delayed email

5. Sync errors (Outlook 2011)

Any real fix or solution?

Web search suggests that Apple points to Microsoft and Microsoft seems to point to Apple.  Meanwhile, some company employees have set aside thier Mac rather than dealing with the headaches. (Score for Windows)

Scouring the web, we've implemented some best practices found here http://www.valiant-ny.com/2012/10/outlook-2011-for-mac-and-exchange-sync-issues/

We've implemented Best Practices Such As:

 Keep account under 3GB
 Keep Inbox and Sent folders under 4000 items
 Utilize folders and place under main account – not Inbox
 Perform major email moves on Outlook Web Access (web mail) Perform major email moves one process at a time allowing synchronization time
 Archive using Outlook for Windows and import into Outlook for Mac
 Keep archive files limited to 2GB maximum
 Set Outlook to download headers only unless offline access is needed
 Exit Outlook cleanly versus minimizing and allowing the computer to sleep/hibernate

Thanks

Hello, everyone. I have a Windows 7 PC and would like to download and install Movie Maker, but right now I only have dial-up Internet access. (Lucky me.) It'll probably take forever for me to install Movie Maker using dial-up; that is, if it's even possible. So my question, then, is -- Is it possible to download Movie Maker with a dial-up connection? Is there a way for me to order it from Microsoft on a CD or DVD disc? Is there a way for me to download the installation files onto a friend's machine, and then install it on my machine? (And why didn't Microsoft include it with Win7, anyway? To make my miserable life even harder? LOL!) Thank you for your answers!

I recently went through the weird security thing in Windows Live where Microsoft decided I had to wait a month before being able to use live email fully. And now when I try to log in to my regular hotmail account (not this one) I am given the question "Where shall we send your code?" with a pitiful choice between an email that does not exist! (the suffix is wrong) or "I can't verify my account". There seems no way to change this inaccuracy and no way of contacting Microsoft to let them know that the email is not mine. If I click "I can't verify" then I will just be sent through the same 1 month loop. Save going to Micosoft's offices and asking in person, what on earth can I do? An help much appreciated!

This has been going on for days now. Is Microsoft ever going to get around to fixing this problem?

Its obvious that other users are experiencing this issue and I'm sure would love to have it resolved.
