Split from this thread.

First I couldn't get anything to work on WLM, removed my email account no less than 20 times and put it back on. I finally got it to working after checking the box that allows less secure apps or whatever, but then my task bar disappears. When I click home it comes back up, but covers up my inbox, so I click on a folder and then the taskbar disappears again. I truly despise WLM. So I try the repair option listed above and it starts working on a repair, then suddenly says I have no internet connection and cancels out. Problem is, I most certainly AM connected to the internet so the whole thing is a screwed up mess.

I have two contacts in my Live Mail Contacts list whom I'm unable to edit in any way!

As you can see in the screen shot (trimmed for anonymity), although I have one of the contacts highlighted, the Edit and Delete buttons are not available. All the other contacts are ok in this respect. How can I edit/delete these two rogue contacts

However another niggle is that I've renamed some of my contacts to make them easier to find and although I've changed the name, when I enter them they display as the original names and not the new ones. I think this has been captured in other threads, but don't think it has a satisfactory answer yet?

Thanks,

Jac

I have searched up this issue and found threads from 2013. I tried all the "fixes" but I still cannot get my camera to work.

I'm running Windows 8 and I'm trying to import videos from my Sony HVR-V1P It is connected with 1394 (Firewire). The video camera is recognized and I can start the import process but once it finishes rewinding the tape is comes up with an error saying:

"The video device is currently in use. Close any other programs that is using the device and try again. If you need to start Import Video again, turn off your import device and the turn it on again."

I've tried the following:

Disabling all startup programs
Installing 'legacy' 1394 driver
Importing through Movie Maker

I have changed the camera settings and the best I can get is that it attempts to capture the video and will communicate with the camera, it just will not capture the video.

Yes I appreciate it is an old camera and it all worked fine on my old Dell. This is a new Dell 8700 and I purchased a fire wire card so I could continue to use the Pro video camera I have.

From the previous threads it didn't look good on a solution so I hoping we can sort it out now it is 2017

Is there such a thing?

I currently have a Mac.

I have about 10,000 e-mails in the .eml format saved on Google Drive. I previously was using Windows 3.1, 95, 98, XP & Vista. Needless to say, I don't want to look at each e-mail & decide which to save & which to delete!

I have a HP mini-110 with Windows XP. I can import the e-mails into Outlook Express so that I can look at them but as I previously stated, I don't want to look at 10,000 e-mails.

Well, unfortunately, I'll have to look at all of them eventually!

I need a free conversion program that will batch convert my .eml e-mails into a format that can be read from within Windows, Mac & Linux. Since I have a Mac, I want a Mac-compatible program that will convert my e-mails.

A few years ago I asked the same question & IMAP was recommended. How do I convert from .eml to IMAP?

Is .mbox a universal format? I read that .mbox will convert all e-mails into 1 text file. I don't want that. Then I'd have to go thru & separate all of the e-mails.

So, is there a solution?

Back in October Microsoft had us change Windows Essentials Email setting from a POP account to an IMAP account. Now I have two accounts so my email tries to periodically send from the old defunct POP account. I do not want to delete the old account because I would like to keep the contents on my PC as a backup. I have tried to delete the server URL and login in hopes to neutralize it, but it won’t let me. So is there a simple way to decommission my old account while retaining the emails from it? Thanks!
